Dana Wilkey was not featured on Real Housewives of Beverly Hills for very long, but what she lacked in screen time, she made up with tiny iconic moments. Despite efforts to weave herself into the tapestry of the group, Dana never reached “friend of” status, but many viewers will never forget Dana and her desperation $25,000k sunglasses.
After her brief stint on RHBOH, Dana caught some legal cases. She was sued for fraud in 2011 and indicted on fraud charges in 2014. Accusations included conspiracy to commit wire fraud, wire fraud and aiding and abetting, and false statements to government agents. Sounds like she would fit in with most cast members, amirite? Well, Dana finally found a way to become a Housewife – even if it was just for one glorious night.
Did everyone have a happy Halloween? I think we could all use a laugh this week and Dana has gifted us with something we won’t soon forget. After hanging on the peripheral of Bravo cameras since game night in her unfurnished house, Dana became the GOAT of Halloween 2020. Some people dress as scary ghosts. Many folks appear as their favorite horror movie figure. Dana took fear to the ultimate limit, she was… Kyle Richards.
Now before you assume Dana was taking a cheap shot at Kyle, there was actually a good reason behind the costume. Dana was working with Friends of Karen, an organization that helps raise awareness and support for critically ill children and their families. And you know what they say, imitation is the sincerest form of flattery. But what is sincerity in Beverly Hills? Dana shared her version of Kyle on Twitter, and then the world rejoiced.

Some of the finer points of Dana’s costume included, the deed to Kim Richards’ goddamned house. An empty glass of wine. A hat that makes anyone looking at her want to scream, “GOODBYE KYLE!”. Dana also donned a long, black wig and some pale lipstick to complete the look. Missing from the outfit was a floor length caftan and Lisa Vanderpump’s soul looming over her left shoulder.
Dana captioned her post, “The best flattery comes in someone imitating U @KyleRichards did it for me on #rhobh season 2 and now for #friendsofkaren I perfected the @KyleRichards costume! (She loves kids)”. I must say, it is a worthy effort.

Maybe Dana never held a diamond. And maybe Dana never held a scene longer than her outlandish accessories. But Dana’s version of Kyle will live rent free in some of our minds for days to come. Thanks to Dana for giving us a light moment, and a version of Kyle that even Kathy Hilton could tolerate.
