Austen Kroll, after years of puppy-dogging behind Shep Rose and Craig Conover, may finally be coming into his own. He’s one by one starting to call out his cast-mates for being shitty. It’s sort of impressive. He’s even come for Patricia Altshul’s caftans. Look out now!
While some seem to think Austen’s whining is limitless and played out, others are finding it refreshing. He’s certainly shooting his shot on this season of Southern Charm. On camera, and off.
The episode to open this season featured a party thrown by Shep wherein he invited some pretty controversial guests. Basically, an ex-fling of Austen’s girlfriend, Madison LeCroy. This guy and his new girlfriend were shown having an argument about the run-in, all while Shep pretended he had absolutely no idea this was going to happen. Okay dude.
Austen spilled his true thoughts to Entertainment Tonight saying, “You think episode one, that was just an absolute happenstance that one of the 13 people at his s**t party that showed up was a part of this drama that he couldn’t wait to run around the party and tell everyone about?” He asked again, “Like, you think that was just a coincidence? Come on.”

I mean honestly, it’s hard not to be team Austen on this one. But it hurts to say.
The ridiculousness of the drama came to a head when Shep tried to apologize to Madison in the middle of Austen’s beer festival food stand. Once again trying to blow up Austen’s spot on camera.
Austen commented, “They both have to say the last word, they both have to be the most imposing figure…They are kinda the same when it comes to that. As much as they can say they don’t like each other, I’m like, y’all are the same person.'” Okay so now it makes sense how Austen drooled after Shep in earlier seasons and now is doing the same for Madison. I was blind but now I see.

He even admitted to enjoying the drama! Austen added, “I don’t want to say I’m attracted to drama, but, OK — let’s say … on some level, I guess, it gets me going.” Okay now this is seriously all becoming so so clear why he was so desperate to get in this group.
Austen shared, “It’s very tough to not have one of your ‘good friends,’ which, he is, but he does these things and it makes me want to put that in quotation marks, because he … does these things and I’m like, you are the worst!” But here you are.
