Cameran Eubanks Explains Why She Disconnected From Leva Bonaparte When She Joined Southern Charm; Says She Still Talks To Craig Conover All The Time

Southern Charm has been a doozy. The reunions have basically been insane remakes of the issues throughout the season. The cast-members rehashed Kathryn Dennis’ racism with a new gusto. Austen Kroll and Madison LeCroy seemed to have a new hateful passion as well. This season has changed the direction of a show that used to have a totally different vibe.

One major difference has been the exit of former cast-mate, Cameran Eubanks. And while Cameran hasn’t been on screen, her close friend Leva Bonaparte has. Leva has been open about her wishes for Cam to address some issues on camera. Leva also shared during Part 1 of the reunion that she and Cameran are not as close as they were before she joined the show.

In an interview with DeciderCam answered some questions about where her friendship with Leva is now. When asked about their current status, Cam said, “Well, I think Leva was right. I had kind of disconnected from the show and when Leva made the decision that she was going to go on it, I said, I support you doing this.” Cameran said she told Leva, “I think it’s great. I think you’re going to be great on it. But I don’t want to hear about it. I don’t want to talk about it. Don’t call me complaining about it, and she respected that.”

Cameran concluded, “So I still hold Leva very dear to my heart. She was a bridesmaid in my wedding and I love her dearly.”

Cam was also asked about why she didn’t return for Season 7. She was specifically asked about Craig Conover, who seemed to have very particular ideas on the matter. Cam shared, “Well, first of all, Craig. Now I did watch the part where Craig was saying that he didn’t talk to me anymore, and that I regretted not filming and all this stuff. And I watched it with my mouth [agape] because I talk to Craig all the time and there was never a time that I like called him crying saying I regretted it.”

Uh oh! Is Craig in trouble? Cam continued, “I literally do not know where that came from. But there’s been a lot of controversy and back and forth as to why I left and you know, it’s funny because it’s like, people just can’t wrap their head around the fact that maybe I just didn’t want to be on reality television anymore. I’ve been on and off it since I was 19 years old.”

(Reminder for anyone who forgot, Cam was first on screen as a cast-member of MTV’s Real World). She added, “I originally signed on to do the show the first season thinking, this might run one or two seasons. And it’s done great. It’s been a highly successful show.”

Cameran revealed who she still keeps up with. She shared, “I really keep in touch with everybody. Shep [Rose] still calls me for girl advice, that has not changed. It’s just not in front of a camera now. I talked to Craig. Last week, he actually told me, ‘You’re probably not going to be happy with me about the reunion,’ and I was like, Oh, god, what did you do? What did you say? But I still have a love for Craig deep in my heart. I talk to all of them, for the most part.”

Did Craig really think he showed out at these reunions? Now I know he was wasted. And I still don’t really get why Craig is allowed to chat about the show, but Leva can’t? Is there more to this story we aren’t getting?
