The Below Deck Sailing Yacht bosun has his eye set on another Bravolebrity beauty. After two seasons of flirting with co-star Daisy Kelliher, Gary King decided to pursue Southern Charm star Taylor Ann Green.
The two crossed paths at BravoCon 2022 at New York City’s Javits Center. Taylor caught the flirtatious bosun’s eye. And Page Six reported that they communicate regularly now. Gary spoke with Page Six’s Virtual Reali-Tea podcast to spill all the sweet southern tea.
“I slid into her DMs and we chat every now and then,” he said. “She seems like a really, really cool girl.” Gary admitted that he has never watched Southern Charm, yet he knew of Taylor in passing. And when he saw her, he was hooked.
Gary explained, “I’ve never seen the show in my life. I didn’t even know what it was about to be honest. It’s just because we were in BravoCon together and I think she caught me eyeing her out a little bit from a distance and when I slid into her DMs, she actually mentioned that.”
Taylor coyishly called the bosun out on his inaction at the time. Gary continued, “She was like, ‘Ooh, I saw you looking at me. Why didn’t you come and say hi?’”
The reality star admitted to being “too nervous.” Certainly, Taylor being in the presence of her ex-boyfriend, Shep Rose, was a deterrent. The duo were reportedly amicably hanging out after splitting in the summer of 2022.
Gary said as much during his interview. And he addressed Shep’s physical presence as intimidating.
“I was shy … to go over and say hi. Also because she was bombarded by that very tall guy who I thought was her boyfriend, who I believe was previously,” Gary said. “And he’s intimidating. I’m not the tallest. I’m like 5-foot-8, 5-foot-9 and he’s like 6-foot-6, so he towers over me like the Eiffel Tower,” he added.
In retrospect, Gary regrets that he didn’t approach Taylor, yet there are upcoming opportunities. Namely, BravoCon in November 2023.
Gary is “shooting [himself] in the foot,” yet is hopeful “in the future it can happen.” He added, “I love her outlook on life. I like how easygoing she is and it doesn’t seem like she takes anything too seriously.”

For her part, Taylor has clearly moved on from Shep. She hooked up with co-star Austen Kroll
“at the start” of the upcoming season. Craig Conover though, is off-limits. The Southern Charm star is dating Summer House star Paige DeSorbo.
“Taylor has almost gone through the whole cast, minus Craig,” a source told Page Six.
It’s familiar waters for Gary, who gets himself in messy love triangles every season. This time around, he is competing with Colin MacRae for Daisy’s affection.
“Seeing someone that you feel you’ve got a connection with hook up with someone else is not a nice feeling,” Gary said of Daisy and Colin’s kiss.
Despite feeling “jealousy,” Gary acknowledged, “Daisy can do whatever she wants … They make a cute couple.” That’s what she said.
The dating pool at Bravo is one active place.
