When it comes to Real Housewives, there are a choice few who have overstayed their welcome (ahem, a few ladies of Jersey come to mind). But then there are those who we just didn’t get enough time with. Andy Cohen isn’t oblivious to that, and even has some he personally wishes had stayed longer.
I’ve always been a firm believer in a housewife having at least two seasons to get their bearings. Minus Peggy Sulahian, who deserved no seasons at all on Real Housewives of Orange County.
Now Andy is revealing the wives he wished had hung around longer. Andy spoke about it on a recent episode of his podcast, SiriusXM’s Andy Cohen Live.
His first choice
Andy was asked by guest Danny Pellegrino, a fabulous Bravo recap podcaster in his own right, who the network should have “stuck with.” To which Andy replied, “I’m trying to think.” Ok, so getting nowhere quickly.
Danny suggested one of my personal choices, Claudia Jordan of Real Housewives of Atlanta. The one-season wonder is famous for dragging NeNe Leakes when no one else had the guts. Said Andy, “Well, I think that Claudia Jordan got an unfair, I’ve said this before because we brought her in.”
He continued, “She kind of moved to Atlanta for the show, which never works, and then she, we brought her in as a friend, and then during production, we bumped her up, so I just think we didn’t give her the best chances for success. It was not on her. Yeah.”
A real bummer
Finally, Andy added another classic choice, Tinsley Mortimer. Even though she spent four seasons on Real Housewives of New York, she infamously left in the middle of filming Season 12. At the time, she was trying to make her relationship with Scott Coupon King Kluth work.
The couple went on to get engaged but broke up (for the millionth time) within a year. Andy noted of the socialite, “Yeah. I was bummed that Tinsley left.”
