Ariana Madix and Katie Maloney have been trying to open their sandwich shop since The Oregon Trail was a thing. Okay, not that long, but it seems like forever to fans of Vanderpump Rules. Something About Her is to be Ariana and Katie’s oasis in West Hollywood, offering bites to eat and a brief pause from the outside chaos.
Unfortunately, opening a business is an enormous pain in the ass. There are delays, complications, and permits to obtain. But hardcore viewers are hanging in there because, for the most part, people want this to happen. While the eatery is not yet open, merchandise featuring the logo has been selling for a few months. Now we find out Something About Her is facing another delay in opening its doors. The U.S. Sun has the scoop.
Something About the Health Department …
They were supposed to launch the second week in October and that didn’t pan out. But on the bright side, SaH is reported to open in January 2024. Sure, it’s two years after it went official on Instagram, but who’s counting? Also, it will coincide with the debut of Season 11, so that won’t hurt business.
According to sources, Ariana and Katie are hoping for a revised date of January 15 to get the business running. That said, because Something About Her has been an exercise in patience and frustration, there’s a possibility things could get pushed back again.
Ultimately they want the shop pushing sandwiches “by the end of January” even though Katie and Ari wanted to originally open last July. Lest you want to place blame on the business owners, allow me to direct you to the California Department of Public Health.
All that and the kitchen sink
An insider shared, ”They just heard back from Public Health and now they’re dealing with issues with the kitchen sink. It’s one thing after another, so that’s why the date keeps getting pushed back. It has nothing to do with the owners’ busy schedule.”
Right now SaH has a staff on standby but the crew does not have a hire date. In addition to whatever is going wrong with the kitchen sink, the shop is waiting on the Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control for approval. That application has been pending since October. Ariana and Katie requested a liquor license for the sale of beer and wine for one year.
