Real Housewives have been in their acting bag lately, and the latest are Denise Richards and NeNe Leakes. The trailer for their new movie, Hunting Housewives (premiering March 9), just dropped, and it looks as dramatic as Denise and NeNe’s fourth wall breaks during their last seasons on Bravo.
The movie follows a group of friends heading away for a “much-needed spa retreat” staycation. They’ll get away from their “husbands, children and busy schedules.” But, they “suddenly find themselves downed in a plane crash.”
In the sneak peek obtained by People, watchers can see the Housewives’ husbands conversing about their partners in what appears to be a man cave. “These women are bleeding us dry, but do I have a solution for our problems,” one said to the others. Little did they know his master plan would involve a severe plane crash, leaving the ladies stranded in the woods with little to survive on.
Is NeNe slowly making her way back?
Since NeNe departed The Real Housewives of Atlanta and filed a now-dismissed lawsuit against the network, NBC Universal, and Andy Cohen, the former peach holder hasn’t had much work. So, it’s great to see this flick added to her resumé.
Of course, she’s had her theories about why the work stopped, but no one can officially confirm them. Although NeNe said she’d be open to an RHOA comeback for the fans, veteran cast member Kenya Moore recently stated the “door is closed” for that return.
Before ending things on bad terms with Bravo and the Real Housewives franchise, NeNe starred in Ryan Murphy originals, including Glee and The New Normal. Additionally, she took the stage in the Broadway musical Cinderella with Keke Palmer and later played the role of Matron “Mama” Morton in Chicago.
In addition to Lifetime’s Hunting Housewives film, NeNe will host the Baddies East reunion starring Bad Girls Club alum Natalie Nunn on February 11.
