Trigger Warning: This article contains discussions of domestic violence charges.
James Kennedy and Kristen Doute had a very problematic relationship on Vanderpump Rules. The former couple started dating in 2014, which helped James land a spot on the Season 3 cast. They would later break up in the parking at SUR during Season 4.
Following their breakup, Kristen accused James of abuse. James went on to date Rachel Leviss, who would also later accuse James of violence in their relationship. James is now dating Ally Lewber. When earlier pressed, Ally insisted that James never caused her any harm.
However, James was arrested on domestic violence charges this week, and while we do not yet know if Ally is his alleged victim, we have learned how this announcement has landed with Kristen. Our source exists within her soon-to-expire Instagram Stories, and we will share her simple yet very pointed response to James’ arrest with you now.
Kristen Doute weighs in on the news of James Kennedy’s arrest
As you can see from our screenshot just above, Kristen has quickly responded to the news of her ex’s arrest using only the word “FINALLY.” In all caps, Kristen overlaid this word onto TMZ’s shared story, announcing the charges James is now facing.
Earlier this year, Kristen promised her followers that she would speak up about her volatile relationship with James. But then, we never heard anything else.
Rachel, however, spoke up for Kristen, suggesting that the network silenced this VPR alum in exchange for cold hard cash and a spot on The Valley.
Kristen denied her claims, but Rachel had more to say. Her additional statements arrived via her filed court documents, linked to her lawsuit against Ariana Madix and Tom Sandoval.
Rachel’s filings described James as being “prone to violent outbursts and grappling with long-standing substance abuse issues and emotional dysregulation.” Her suit also alleges that James “would regularly berate Leviss, falsely accuse her of cheating, and act in a generally unhinged manner.”
Rachel also claimed that James kicked their once-shared dog four times while angry, which, yikes. Speaking for Kristen yet again, Rachel also revealed that James assaulted Kristen on camera, but this footage never aired. Furthermore, she credited Lisa Vanderpump as James’ “powerful ally … who served as his protector.”
This story will no doubt evolve as the days drag on. As things get sorted, may the truth prevail.
