Welcome, friends, to The Valley Season 3 Episode 9 recap. Last time, Danny apologized to Nia and Lala for his behavior during the drag pageant. And Jason suffered an injury while playing basketball with the guys. Here’s what happened in The Valley Season 3 Episode 9: “’Til Debt Do Us Part.”
What happened in The Valley Season 3 Episode 9?

Kristen and Zack confronted Nia about her husband’s recent behavior. Meanwhile, Brittany celebrated her mommy makeover. And Michelle convinced Jesse to take another step forward in their divorce process.
Michelle and Jesse’s financial woes in The Valley

Luke and Kristen had a date night, and this one was much different than playing darts at a bar. There were oysters and respectful conversation. Progress! “The motherly instinct and the fatherly instinct are two different things,” Luke noted as Kristen explained why she was nervous because their baby, Kaia, had spit up before they departed. Luke hoped that Kristen could continue to be open with him about her emotions.
Then, Kristen and Luke discussed the brunch and Lala’s feelings about Danny. Once again, Luke was Team Danny. “For some reason, they want to keep pursuing Danny, and this having a drinking problem, when you could make the case about anybody else,” Luke said. In her confessional, Kristen said, “I want to believe that Lala’s not just being an assh*le. But as someone who knows Danny and Nia, it’s so hard for me to believe that he would speak to Nia that way.”
Elsewhere, during a hike, Michelle discussed her financial situation with Lala. During COVID, Jesse apparently got a $300,000 loan and spent the cash. “When I asked for a divorce, he’s like, ‘By the way, I got a $300,000 loan, and you have to pay half because you were married to me,’” Michelle stated. “It’s been in collections because he hasn’t made a payment. So, now they want us to pay, I think close to $30,000 upfront, and then start making the monthly payments.”
According to Michelle, Jesse called her and said he didn’t have the $15,000 for his portion. “He called me last week and said he couldn’t pay for half of Isabella’s health insurance. It’s $400 total,” Michelle told a stunned Lala.
“He’s a f*cking clown. If he can’t pull together $200, where is he getting money to splurge on shoes and wine?” Lala asked. “Somebody’s paying it,” Michelle said, while Lala added, “I’ll bet you it’s Lacy.”
Nia defended Danny in The Valley

Kristen invited Zack and Nia over for a chat. She mentioned that Lala had discussed Danny being drunk and disrespectful to Nia. “He was like intense, because he was like wanting to be super-competitive, and it was just a lot,” Nia explained. “And so, he had a moment. He apologized for it.” Nia added that he also apologized to Lala, and they “hugged it out.”
“I don’t think she was trying to make it anything bigger than what it was,” Zack said. “Sometimes when he drinks, that masculine toxic male whatever comes out.” Then, Kristen asked, “Basically, does Danny know when he gets drunk that he acts a fool?” Nia responded, “Yeah. It’s like you all think we don’t have healthy communication in our marriage.”
However, Zack replied that they mentioned it because it was “a behavior that has maybe been repeated.” Well, Nia was over it. “Why is this a thing when every single person in this friend group has done that?” she remarked. “Why is it a thing about my husband?” Perhaps because he is the one who is currently behaving badly?
In her talking head, Nia said, “Daniel had a bad moment. It has been acknowledged and apologized for. But at the end of the day, that’s not who he is.”
According to Nia, her husband never drinks at home. “So we go out, and he gets a little spicy with me, and nobody else, and all of a sudden, he is a terrible person. Again,” she told Zack and Kristen. Lala may beg to differ, since he was also spicy with her. “I am overwhelmed by this conversation … I love you guys, and you’re my friends,” Nia continued. “F that!”
Brittany celebrates before her makeover in The Valley
All the ladies headed over to Brittany’s for a crab boil. She was celebrating her upcoming “transformation.” Brittany is having a lipo, tummy tuck, and her breast implants removed. And Jasmine, Kristen, and Zack got her a cake with her breasts and a tombstone reading, “RIP 2015 to 2025.” So long to the Jax Taylor era implants!
Outside, Kristen and Zack told Lala that they spoke with Nia. “I feel like she doesn’t like to hear certain things,” Zack admitted. Then, Nia and Jasmine joined the group. “So, I hear you guys were talking about me a little bit,” Nia said. “I’ve been through some sh*t in my life, but I was triggered because I watched a man yelling at a woman,” Lala said. “I just know, there’s strange sh*t happening.”
In her confessional, Lala said, “So hard to describe my feelings for Danny. He’s a church-going family man. Give him a little bit of liquor, and this boy is wilding out.” She added, “I can’t decide if they are trying to hide a very dark, deep-rooted secret. Or if Nia is just struggling to survive in it.”
However, Nia told Lala that she appreciated her concern, noting, “Daniel has his own therapist. I have my own therapist. We have couples’ therapy.” She added, “We’re good.” Meanwhile, a drunken Jasmine told an equally drunken Kristen. “Kristen, what the hell? You’re sitting here validating her triggers, but last year you weren’t validating my triggers.”
Jasmine said in her talking head, “When I did that last year, all hell broke loose.” Cue the clip of Jasmine telling Danny that he “was inappropriate” with her and her fiancée, Melissa.
Jasmine admits that Kristen let her down

“This Mommy makeover is a new start for me,” Brittany said in her confessional. “But getting dressed has been so hard for me for a long time. Making this change is such a good step for me, and like … kind of taking my power back.” Finally, Brittany underwent her six-hour surgery.
Meanwhile, Jasmine and Kristen met up for lunch. Jasmine addressed her feelings about everyone’s response to Lala being triggered by Danny. “When I had a situation with Danny, it was overlooked,” Jasmine explained as she became emotional. She felt that she didn’t receive the “same love” from Kristen that Nia did. Kristen explained that her “anger” with Janet “became more important” than supporting Jasmine. Somehow, she felt that taking down Janet would help Jasmine.
“You know, I’m Black. I’m gay. I’m a woman. I have to fight three times harder than anybody in this group for people to take me seriously,” Jasmine said in her confessional. She admitted that she sometimes had doubts about her friend group. “Are they listening to Lala because she’s white? I think sometimes I do think that. I don’t know,” a tearful Jasmine added.
Then, Schwartz and Jasmine went to visit Jason as he recovered from his knee procedure. “Jason and Janet actually did have my back last year,” Jasmine said in her talking head. “I know that they took it a little too far.” She told Jason and Janet that their friendship could recover from the chaos of last year. Of course, Schwartz made Jason’s day brighter by bringing him a mariachi band.
Will The Valley’s Jesse sign on the dotted line?

Michelle met up with Jesse at a coffee shop. “I don’t want to talk about the past anymore. I’ve asked for a divorce for two years. We’re in this like limbo stage,” Michelle said. “We don’t have papers to sign,” Jesse responded.
“Yes, we do have papers,” she said, pulling out a thick folder. Jesse seemed visibly uncomfortable. “I’m willing to take half of [the] $300,000 debt and just walk away,” she explained. “I get nothing from getting divorced to you. In fact, it hurts me. But I want to move on because we can’t just be married forever.”
Instead of divorce papers, she presented Jesse with papers making her legally responsible for half of the debt from his loan. He agreed to sign, which made Michelle emotional. She reflected on their “magical” relationship and “all the beautiful moments.” Her divorce was finally one step closer.
The Valley airs Wednesdays at 8/7c on Bravo. Episodes will stream on Peacock.
