This has been a break out season for Real Housewives of Potomac. But people aren’t watching for the touching and tender storylines. The reason why everyone is glued to RHOP is due to the smackdown Monique Samuels gave to Candiace Dillard. It was violent. It wasn’t pretty. It also could have been avoided. This has definitely been an occasion where viewers have taken sides. Additionally, it appears the cast takes sides as well.
All of us functioning grown people realize Candiace saying, “Drag me, Monique” was not a literal request to be led across the floor by her hair. But sometimes a smart mouth can get you in trouble. And sometimes a smart mouth can get you an ass-whipping. After the spanking Candiace received, a couple of the ladies felt Monique went from Housewife to liability. Monique fell under the impression that some of her co-workers wanted her banished from the show, but Robyn Dixon is now saying that is fake news.
Well, it’s safe to say the physical fight between Candiace and Monique divided this group. Karen Huger, being the Grand Dame and voice of reason, invited the ladies to her home to discuss the aftermath of the incident. Gizelle Bryant made her point early on by showing up with security. Because I’m sure Monique was planning on going after Gizelle’s rhinestone encrusted hat… Karen and Ashley Darby remained rather firmly on Monique’s side, as Ashley had almost been a casualty of Candiace’s silverware last season.
According to Monique, some of the women met off camera prior to Karen’s meeting. In an interview, she stated they had a little strategic kiki, seeing an opportunity to relieve Monique of her Bravo paycheck. Realhousewivesfranchise shared a piece of the interview on Instagram and Comments By Bravo posted the info. Robyn is determining that rumor is a lie.

After reading Monique’s words, Robyn wrote, “Wowwwwwww I’m floored. The lies don’t stop.” True that. The lies definitely do not stop. To be clear, this cast is not new to fabrication. Ask Gizelle about her man’s paternity suits. Ask Robyn how she had no idea her taxes weren’t being paid. Is it completely outer limits to believe someone had a secret meeting about giving Monique the boot? Nope.
Whether the meeting happened or not isn’t particularly relevant because lines have been drawn. That said, Bravo hasn’t terminated Monique, but viewers will be seeing less of her for the remainder of the season. Both Candiace and Gizelle have stated they refuse to film with Monique going forward. If the network fired Monique for this incident, they would have to go back and touch on every single physical altercation that has been televised. Monique might be fined future episodes, but as of now she is sticking around.

I guess that answers the question of whether or not the cast has the power to get someone fired. But the real question is, do we believe Robyn when she says the meeting didn’t happen? Maybe it’s time for this cast to not focus so much on who is telling a lie, and turn their focus on the truths they are trying to hide.
