Now that the Real Housewives of Potomac has made its triumphant return to my TV screen, all of my excited energy is going toward the upcoming second season of the Real Housewives of Salt Lake City. The SLC ladies had an explosive first season with so many iconic moments already, many involving the unique character that is Mary Cosby. Otherwise known as the woman who lives in her closet, is married to her step-grandfather and fell asleep during the Season 1 reunion. Mary’s made more than a few questionable statements in the past, from telling Jen Shah she smells like hospital to tone-deaf statements about poor people. But one thing’s for sure — she’s someone you cannot look away from when she comes on screen.
It’s obvious that Mary and Jen will probably never have a real relationship, especially considering Jen’s fraud allegations that will undoubtedly be a major part of Season 2. But they really seems to be more alike than they are different. They both are the only minorities on the show. They both make pretty stupid statements from time to time. And they’re both so over-the-top in their own unique ways. So it’s a bit of a shame they can’t kiss and make up.
Alright, so we know by now that Bravo is really trying to make spinoffs on Peacock happen and doing anything in their power to get their viewers to subscribe to the streaming service. Summer House Winter Charm, for example. And the Real Housewives All-Stars vacation series mashup, something fans have begged the network for for years, will be behind the NBCUniversal paywall. And in a newly announced project, Real Housewives of Beverly Hills OG Kyle Richards will be showing her acting chops in a surprising new film.
Kyle’s been vocal about her acting career, most of it when she was a child, since day one on RHOBH. She and her sister Kim Richards appeared in several blockbusters back in the day. Even RHOBH editors dug up an old scene from the Little House on the Prairie to include in this week’s episode. And some of Kyle’s solo Hollywood projects, AKA the short-lived sitcom based on her life, have caused plenty of familial problems in the background. But an upcoming new holiday film will likely not piss anyone off with its, let’s say, unique plot.
Jen Shah was made for
jail reality television. The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City premiered last year and served mountain views with blender co-dependency. We also got some pretty interesting characters, and Jen provided a little bit of everything. She had the paid team of friends, expensive wardrobe, and now fraud charges. Welcome to the world of Real Housewives, Jen darling.
Season 2 of RHOSLC is heavily anticipated as Jen found herself busted by the Feds for conspiracy to commit wire fraud. Her arrest is now content for a storyline and fodder for anyone she’s ever screamed at, which would be most people she knows. Back in April, Jen plead not guilty to the allegations lodged against her and it appears she wants all of the charges dropped as well. While Jen’s smile might be a thin disguise, she is now trying to hide her blurry
Jen Shah was the HBIC on Real Housewives of Salt Lake City. Last season, during a RHOSLC cast trip to Las Vegas, Jen got in Whitney Rose’s face. She also screamed at her most loyal supporter, Heather Gay.
In March of 2021, audio of Jen allegedly verbally attacking her Shah squad and designer Koa Johnson leaked. Jen sent cease and desist letters to the Instagram accounts that leaked the audio.
Similar to Jen Shah of the Real Housewives of Salt Lake City, Erika Jayne’s extraness has proven to be her downfall. Both Jen and the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star have bragged about their extravagant lifestyles, only to be caught up in embezzlement and fraud lawsuits that could lead to jail time. Or at the very least, a complete shake-up of their XXPen$ive lifestyles. It just goes to show that all that glitters is not gold.
Erika’s husband Tom Girardi is truly in some deep shit. The longtime L.A. lawyer has had his assets frozen and lost his license to practice law after being accused of embezzling more than $26 million in unpaid funds to victims of horrific accidents. The lawyer stole the money from victims to fund he and EJ’s extravagant lifestyle, which is just downright evil. To add to the craziness, Erika filed for divorce around the same time news of the lawsuit broke, looking like a last-ditch attempt for her to recover her assets. Even though she’s claiming her 81-year-old husband with failing health somehow had the time to cheat on her while swindling millions from his clients. Rich people problems, am I right?
Erika Girardi isn’t exactly in the clear, even though she’s crying scapegoat and getting her co-stars to run a sympathy campaign for her. But the proof is in the pudding, and she’s fair-game for an investigation. Even the feds are tuning in to RHOBH now, and I wonder what they think of Sutton Stracke’s crying or Kathy Hilton’s antics? They’re definitely taking plenty of notes of how EJ bragged about her love for Tom just DAYS before filing for divorce. Messy, messy.
Ever since the news broke about Jen Shah’s arrest, anticipation for her return to the small screen sky-rocketed. It was damn good luck that the Feds came for her while Bravo cameras were rolling for Season Two of the Real Housewives of Salt Lake City. Jen has yet to have her day in court to determine if she is guilty of the charges. The arrest was very much real though, and RHOSLC fans can’t wait to see Jen humbled a little.
Of course, Season One was volatile and entertaining in its own right. Heather Gay just wanted to party and hook up. Whitney Rose accused Lisa Barlow and Meredith Marks of being afraid of Jen, which caused a lot of strife at Coach Sharrieff Shah’s birthday party. Lisa and Meredith denied the allegations, despite Jen’s tendency to rage and throw glasses. Interactions with Jen were so toxic that Meredith wisely “disengaged” from confrontations all season. And while no one admitted to fearing Jen, the RHOSLC ladies agreed that she is untrustworthy.
Out of all the insane stories and controversial moments that have happened in the Bravoverse over the past year, Jen Shah of the Real Housewives of Salt Lake City really takes the cake. Her first season on the show was filled with her erratic behavior and seemingly picture-perfect life, which we all know is really a scam now. Jen was arrested a few weeks back for allegedly being involved in a long-running fraud and money laundering telemarketing scheme that targeted the elderly. And while she’s been posting on Instagram as if she’s not facing 30 years behind bars (#unarrested), the charges alleged against her and her assistant Stuart Smith are truly horrific, to put it in the words of her old buddy Brooks Marks.
Jen has pleaded not guilty both in and out of the courtroom, but the evidence isn’t looking too good for Miss Shah. She was apparently tipped off about her arrest, somewhat attempted to flee and traumatized producers in the process. And even though Bravo did their homework, it’s really curious why Jen would even appear on a reality show in the first place if she was involved in such shady business. At least Bravo is going to get some crazy footage for Season 2.
In March of this year, Real Housewives of Salt Lake City star Jen Shah was on the receiving end of some new bracelets. These shiny, fitted, steel cuffs featured an automatic locking device and an exhausted Federal agent. As the Bravo gods silently thanked their lucky stars for choosing yet another criminal to make famous, Jen’s theatrical arrest went down after a brief manhunt and cameras were up filming Season 2.
Jen and her assistant Stuart Smith were charged with conspiracy to commit wire fraud and conspiracy to commit money laundering. They allegedly ran a sketchy telemarketing biz and reportedly stole money from vulnerable clientele. Because greed and lack of shame are a thing, Jen continues to film RHOSLC’s sophomore run. It’s a good thing Jenny from the Cell Block craves attention, because she’s gonna get it. Now we’ve learned, not only will Jen’s crimes unfold on camera, so will her Zillow results.
