He was supposed to show up for a double date with Gizelle, Robyn Dixon, and Juan Dixon, but Gizelle ended up going alone with news that they broke up. It’s sad that they parted ways, but at least it didn’t happen on camera.
The last episode of the show began where the previous one left off: Ashley and Robyn Dixonarguing with an umbrella-wielding Monique. Even though Ashley is the one who “introduced” Candiace Dillard to the cast, Candiace made it clear that she’s on Monique’s side at this moment.
After all the craziness for the last four weeks, tonight’s episode of The Real Housewives of Potomac was relatively drama free. According to the men in my life, there is a basketball game playing on another channel, so I’m going to use a sports reference and say this was the halftime show; kind of entertaining, but certainly not the main event.
We resume where we left off last week: On the street outside Karen Huger’s Scentertainment Party. Robyn Dixon takes Monique Samuels up on her offer to come at her. Monique is multi-tasking by yelling at the Green Eyed Bandits in a pace that is comparable to the speed of light and at the same time counting her considerable fortune. Monique is not going to fight Robyn because one tap on the cheek and broke Robyn will be dragging Monique’s skinny butt into court. Robyn taunts her, but Charrisse Jackson and Karen manage to lead Monique away from the chaos. Everyone but Monique knows Robyn could drop her with a single punch. Charrisse tries to defend Monique to the rest of the group which makes Robyn and Gizelle Bryant go after Charrisse until thankfully security tells them they need to clear the street. Does anyone understand how Robyn is in the middle of this? It was originally between Ashley Darby and Monique. It’s like Robyn is working freelance as Ashley’s hired gun and Monique didn’t get the memo that she could outsource this fight. Once everyone else leaves, Monique breaks down to Charrisse. I love giving Charrisse a hard time, but she was on her best behavior this episode and gave Monique a much-needed shoulder to cry on.
Karentried to detract from the tax drama hosted an event to smell scents for a perfume that she is working on with her ambiguous employee Matt by her side. All hell broke loose when Monique Samuels confronted Ashley Darbyand Karen kicked them out via security guards- which seems to be her go-to move this season.
Most of us were raised that there are certain lines we do not cross. One would be don’t drink and drive. Another is not to get into a physical altercation. Lying was the one thing that would really set the adults in my life off. Tonight’s episode of Real Housewives of Potomac took those childhood lessons and drop kicked them straight into the dumpster.
It’s the last night of the trip and Charrisse Jordan drops a bomb that Karen Huger’s husband, Ray, asked her for a divorce. Yes, Karen admits it’s true, but that was a long time ago. Like most couples who have been married for years, they went through a rough patch, but they’re in a much better place now. Of course, the past is never really the past, but the only thing Karen is concerned about right now is Ray’s health. This tax thing has been very stressful. After dinner Karen and Gizelle Bryant whisper together away from the other ladies. Apparently, Ray asking for a divorce was a little more recent than Karen wants to admit. Gizelle tells Karen that they are here for her. Monique Samuels is right when she says in her talking head that these women are friends to no one and doesn’t blame Karen at all for not telling them all her business.
Obviously Karen didn’t just randomly come out with this information. Charrisse Jackson-Jordanrevealed it to the group during the last episode of Real Housewives of Potomac. “Messy” isn’t a strong enough adjective to describe Charrisse. This is especially true since she is now a “Friend of the Housewives” instead of a full-time cast member.
Unfortunately for Monique, that’s not what happened. Charrisse asked Candiace if Candiace’s mother paid for her engagement ring. Candiace described that question as a “shady bitch” comment. Charrisse got offended by the description. Candiace hurled some age-centered insults at Charrisse. And then Monique was left in the middle. If she took up for Charrisse she could be viewed as a bad friend to Candiace. If she stood up for Candiace, she could have seemed disloyal to Charrisse.
