I keep a list of least favorite husbands on Real Housewives. It grows longer and longer every year. David Foster’s been on it for a while and it’s not just because he left Real Housewives of Beverly Hills’ Yolanda Hadid at the height of her illness. It’s because he’s a narcissistic jerk that doesn’t want guests to have fun at parties as much as he wants them to fawn over his performance skills. Also – check out his documentary (actually don’t), it’s filled with revisionist history to make him look better.
David’s been married five times. His most recent marriage is to American Idol alum, Katharine McPhee. He’s 71 and she’s 36. That’s the same age difference between my father and me, but oh well, this is Hollywood! I’m sure this marriage is the one that will last.
Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star Erika Jayne has to be regretting her song “XXpen$ive” these days, right? Almost every article slamming her and her lawyer husband Tom Girardi for their questionable finances (and ethics) is citing that song and Erika’s other claims about her lavish lifestyle.
She has even said that she spends $40K on glam every single month. Most of us were questioning if that was actually worth it. News flash: it’s not. Especially since her husband had been withholding money from his clients, who were owed money after losing family members in airplane crashes, explosions, and boating accidents. Basically, Tom was taking money from orphans, widows, and widowers to fund Erika’s ridiculous costume budget and her paid “friends” from her glam squad.
We all know David Foster as “my King” or rather Yolanda Hadid’s king on Real Housewives of Beverly Hills. We also know David is an egomaniac with disdain for guests who try to sing along at his parties. David wants us to know that he absolutely DID NOT leave Yolanda because she had Lyme disease. Even though we already know that David is terrible at marriage.
According to Wikipedia, David married singer, B.J. Cook in the seventies. They had a daughter and divorced soon after. In the eighties, he was married four years to Rebecca Dyer. They had three daughters. In the nineties, he married Linda Thompson. Linda is noteworthy because she co-wrote one of the greatest Whitney Houston songs ever, I Have Nothing. She’s also Brody Jenner’s mom and stayed with David a whopping 15 years. From 2011 to 2017 David was married to Yolanda. Now, he’s married to Katharine McPhee. He’s 70. She’s 36.
One word suffices in describing what it was like to watch David Foster and Yolanda Hadid together on Real Housewives of Beverly Hills: insufferable. Oh my love, my king. Let me change out of my white jeans and into an embarrassing maid’s costume. Let me serve you a meal with extra lemon as though I am a peon. In my imagination, this is exactly what Yolanda’s inner monologue sounded like when she was married to David.
They were married for four years, but together nine years total before calling it quits in December 2015. As annoying as Yolanda was, David was equal parts narcissist. (Never forget how cringe-worthy it was when he shushed their guests while playing the piano). In Yolanda’s last season on RHOBH she was simultaneously battling Lyme Disease and fighting off rumors spread by Lisa Rinna, Kyle Richards, and Lisa Vanderpump that she was faking it. In spite of this, she managed to hide her separation from David a majority of the season. It wasn’t until the reunion aired that she announced their divorce. Yo claimed that David left her because he was fed up with her illness. Now, he’s telling his side.
When Real Housewives of Beverly Hills viewers first “met” Yolanda Hadid, she was actually Yolanda Foster, the wife of music producer David Foster. He is now married to Katharine McPhee, who I would love to join RHOBH, by the way. We can get some more Baby Face piano singalongs.
Anyway, Yolanda has a new man and she actually broke the news about his identity herself.
Real Housewives of Beverly Hills alum Yolanda Hadid is starting the New Year off in a more natural state. Yolanda, who suffers from Lyme disease (in case you have been hiding under a rock for years and didn’t know0, left RHOBH after Season 6. Of course, Yolanda shared with fans that it was her decision to quit the show. They all say that. Right?
Other sources said that Yolanda decided to leave after she was offered a gig as to be a Friend of the Housewives (oh, the horror!) instead of a full-time cast member. There was also word that Bravo wanted to capture something other than Lyme disease as Yolanda’s storyline, and that may have been the breaking point.
This week we celebrate Kyle Richards‘ birthday, a momentous Bravo occasion if ever there was one, because it is Kyle who brought us kaftans. I cried tears of warm rosé to learn that Kaftans By KyleKantoo closed last year, because how else am I going to satisfy my dream of being shrouded in polyester satin leopard print, weighed down by giant rhinestones and chopped off at the mid-thigh? I guess I’ll have to travel all the way to Beverly Hills to raid Kyle’s closet!
So anyway, follow me as we go on a journey of Kyle’s best (and by ‘best’ I mean WORST!) and most infamous moments on Real Housewives of Beverly Hills.
Most of Kyle’s notable moments are connected to Kim Richards. The Twisted Sisters Richards have formed the cornerstone of this show’s consistent focus of very real family dysfunction from practically the very first episode.
