The Season 3 premiere of Real Housewives of Potomac is quickly approaching. The trailer has been released, the cast has been announced, and now the fans are blessed with the taglines for the upcoming season.
In all honesty, I’ve heard better. Then again, this franchise has been going strong since 2006, with many cities, and even more Housewives, so I get: a lot of the iconic quotes have already been used. Nevertheless, some of these are actually pretty good. And others are representative of the Potomac series: too much, yet not enough at the same time.
Like it or not, The Real Housewives of Potomac is back for a third season. After two tepid seasons, the ladies are back for round three. Hopefully third time is the charm.
Gizelle Bryant, Karen Huger, Ashley Darby, Robyn Dixon, and Monique Samuels will be back as full-time cast members. Charrisse Jackson-Jordan got demoted (or has some excuse about why she’s taking more time for herself) and is now a “Friend of the Housewives.” And of course there’s a new girl that Gizelle is bound to hate on: Candiace Dillard, a former Miss United States.
Even though the reunion episodes are supposed tie up the loose ends from a season, it really just leaves the Real Housewives of Potomac stars with more loose ends to tie up based on the comments the cast made during the reunion. One person who is never shy about sharing her opinion is Gizelle Bryant.
Gizelle has had major issues with everyone in the cast except for her fellow green-eyed bestie Robyn Dixon. Needless to say, she has a lot of explaining to do and by that I mean a lot of shade to throw.
It was pretty painful to watch Karen Huger try and explain herself during that Real Housewives of Potomac reunion. Sure, her finances are her business, but then again she did sign up to be on a reality TV show about her life. So it’s hard to know what she should and shouldn’t share.
Nevertheless, there are plenty of things that don’t add up. Was Karen downsizing? Why did she move into a bigger house? Did she move because of her parents? None of it makes any sense, and there’s that tax lien which has never been addressed on the show.
After a blah first season, Real Housewives of Potomac really stepped up its game with round two. One part of that was casting Monique Samuels– one of two people in the cast who actually live in Potomac.
Aside from actually living in the city from the show’s title, Monique is one of the few cast members who is in a happy relationship and isn’t lying about her finances- so of course, that didn’t sit well with some people.
The most shocking part of the Real Housewives of Potomac reunion was when Ashley Darby announced that she is living separately from her husband Michael Darby. It got even crazier when Michael actually blamed Gizelle Bryant, Charrisse Jackson-Jordan, and Robyn Dixon for their marital issues.
Sure, the gossiping didn’t help, but there’s no way that three outsiders were actually responsible for the demise of Ashley and Michael’s relationship. So of course Gizelle is standing up for herself and throwing some serious shade- as per usual.
Like most viewers, I wasn’t thrilled when I heard that Real Housewives of Potomac was returning for a second season, but it’s definitely way better than most of us expected. But some of the ladies are trying way too hard to get screen time. Robyn Dixon has opened up about the difference between filming Season 1 and Season 2.
She even calls out costar Ashley Darby for stirring the pot this season in a quest to make the show more interesting. She explains how Karen Huger is acting differently after Season 1 and she reveals some shocking information about Juan Dixon’s family.
Even though Karen Huger has a lot of questions to answer for in regard to her shady financial situation, she refused to truly address any of the speculation when she appeared on Watch What Happens Live with Monique Samuels. Instead of coming clean about some obvious inconsistencies, she just deflected and threw shade at the other Real Housewives of Potomac cast members, of course.
I don’t know why Karen would step into the club house a couple hours after that episode aired. I mean she had to know those questions were coming, but clearly she didn’t care. It’s Karen’s world and we’re all just living in it- or at least that’s how she’s acting.
