One of the saddest stories to come out of the Bravo family in a long time was the death of Teresa Giudice’s father, Giacinto Gorga. We all know him as the affectionately named “Nonno” from the show. Nonno passed away on April 3rd and most of his family has opened up their hearts and shared their grief on social media since then. Both Teresa and Joe Gorga’s kids posted loving thoughts and messages on Instagram. So did Joe Giudice, saying of his father-in-law, “Thank you for setting an example for us and my girls-you’re an exemplary example. We benefited from it every day.”
It’s going to be hard to watch Real Housewives of New Jersey without Nonno. Throughout the years, we’ve seen him as the center of his entire family. We even saw his grief when his beloved wife, Antonia Goga died back in 2017. I will never forget watching Nonno cry over missing his wife. But Nonno gave us so many good times on the show and it’s clear that it’s not just his family that will miss him.
On April 3, Teresa Giudice and Joe Gorga shared that their father, Giacinto Gorga, passed away. The lovable man became a paternal figure for Joe and Teresa’s friends and even the Real Housewives of New Jersey viewers.
Joe and Teresa’s kids always called Giacinto “Nonno,” which is the Italian word for “grandfather.” Even the RHONJ viewers have affectionately referred to him as “Nonno” throughout the years. Aside from the obvious sadness for the Giudice and Gorga family members, there’s all an additional hurdle during this time period. Because of the coronavirus pandemic, people are not allowed to partake in large gatherings. Of course, there’s a major risk of spreading and contracting the virus.
Real Housewives of New Jersey fans learned the sad news that Giacinto Gorga, the father of Teresa Giudice and Joe Gorga, passed away on April 3. It was clear that Giacinto, known as “Nonno,” had struggled with health issues recently. Both Melissa Gorga, and Teresa had asked fans to pray for the beloved patriarch of the Gorga family.
Nonno was a part of RHONJ from the very beginning. Nonno loved being in the kitchen. He could boil an octopus like nobody’s business, and I loved seeing him cook with his granddaughters. Ever since the death of Nonno’s wife, Antonia, Nonno had been living with Teresa and her four daughters. He was a huge part of their lives, and a support during Joe Giudice’s incarceration and deportation woes.
It’s a sad day for the Bravo family. Real Housewives of New Jersey patriarch and fan favorite, Nonno (real name Giacinto Gorga) has passed away. His death is an extra tough pill for the family to swallow since it comes only three years after wife Antonia passed away from pneumonia.
As the father to star Teresa Giudice and Joe Gorga, Nonno has been around since the show’s beginning. With good reason – for a reality show that focuses heavily on close-knit Italian families, Nonno was right where he belonged. It was hard not to love him as he stepped up to help his granddaughters when Teresa went to jail, followed by her husband Joe Giudice. By far my favorite Nonno memory is from last season when he boiled a full octopus at 6:15 in the morning.
After months of sharing health updates with Real Housewives of New Jersey fans, Teresa Giudice and Joe Gorga have shared that their father, Giacinto Gorga, passed away this morning. Giacinto, affectionately known as “Nonno” to his grandchildren and family members has been a beloved part of RHONJ for many years.
Both of the siblings broke the news this afternoon via Instagram post.
Teresa Giudice and Joe Gorga’s father has become such a lovable character on Real Housewives of New Jersey. Giacinto Gorga, better known as “Nonno,” has been living with Teresa and her four daughters ever since his wife passed away.
We have seen him at family events, giving Teresa advice, and even giving us some comic relief at times.
Real Housewives of New Jersey fans know how close Teresa Giudice and Joe Gorga are with their father Giacinto Gorga, better known as “Nonno.” Whether he’s cooking an octopus at 6 AM or offering Teresa advice during the family’s legal troubles, he’s really endeared himself to the
Recently, Melissa Gorga celebrated her birthday, while self-isolating due to the current state of the world, of course. However, she did ask for one thing from her Instagram followers: prayers for Nonno.
“Gia Catania” has a nice ring to it, doesn’t it? Obviously, I’m getting way ahead of myself on this one since Gia Giudice and Frankie Catania aren’t even dating, but a Real Housewives of New Jersey fan can dream, can’t I?
On tonight’s Real Housewives of New Jersey episode, Dolores Catania’s son Frankie takes Teresa Giudice’s daughter Gia to prom and I cannot even convey how happy this makes me, as a complete stranger who is just overly invested in the Giudice family. Frank Catania, Joe Gorga, Melissa Gorga, Milania Giudice, and Nonno are all on hand for support (and to take a million photos) before Gia and Frankie head to the dance.
