Stassi Schroeder has made no secret that she was over all the plebeians and infants on Vanderpump Rules, but speaking out on her time on the show Stassi confirms, “This isn’t my life anymore” and she’s glad to be done with reality TV. Especially since she’s moved on to greener pastures, like a loving relationship with her boyfriend Patrick, which all began via a little stalking.

Stassi knew she was done at the reunion, which she describes as “the worst day of my life” after news broke that a solo sex tape she made had circulated around SUR and just barely avoided becoming a storyline thanks to the good graces of the benevolent Lisa Vanderpump

Admitting she barely survived the brutal day, Stassi made a decision to officially abandon the toxic environment of SUR and reality TV.  “I held it together the whole time during taping, and went home afterwards and cried for two hours and went to sleep at 6:00 at night.”

Stassi describes the reunion as a disconnect because she had been living separate lives from the rest of the cast in between the months when filming wrapped and the reunion occurred. Now Stassi is relieved that shilling her life and personality for reality television cameras is all behind her. “I don’t hang out with these people. I don’t talk to them, and I’m not around it, I haven’t seen most of them in the seven months since filming stopped,” she explains to Millennium Magazine. “It was so crazy to be back in that environment, and I was just looking at everyone just hating and fighting, and I thought there is just so much more than this minuscule situation.”

“It’s really hard to be in a show where you are being played to be one step hated of everybody else and rip each other to shreds. We’re not paid to sit around and get along,” Stassi elaborates of her time as a reality show villainess. “They want to see dirt. It was really hard. But we did it to ourselves, we put ourselves in that situation, so I can’t complain about it.”

While she’s not exactly grateful for the platform VPR gave her, Stassi accepts that it taught her a lot about who she is as a person. “I learned that I’m tough. Maybe I had to grow to be tough.”

Stassi also credits the show for opening doors into the fashion industry, she recently attended fashion week and she launched a style blog and the infamous statement necklace line. “It’s kind of my thing right now,” she declares. “It’s what I love.”

Revealing it was her mysterious boyfriend Patrick who encouraged her to start Style By Stassi (because he was tired of her mooching around doing nothing in their NYC apartment). “I was with my boyfriend all the time. He was always asking, ‘What are you doing?'” And what she was doing was looking at other people’s blogs and he told her to start her own. Stassi exploited industry connections obtained through her time on Bravo, of course, to “expand her wardrobe” which made starting the blog “easy.”

However her true love is still statement necklaces, a passion she shares with her mom. “That line is not mass manufactured,” Stassi clarifies. “She’s at home watching TV doing it!” So her MOM is doing all the work? Oh God…

Of course after doing some fashion in NYC, Stassi then famously made the decision to return to LA after Patrick got a job transfer, which is how she found herself wooed back to Bravo. Stassi admits she “stalked” Patrick (for years!) before they started dating because she listened to him on his Cosmo radio show, Cocktails with Patrick, “I would check if he was single. I would Google him,” she gushes. “It got to a point where I was like, ‘This is my soulmate.'” #RUNPATRICKRUN

She finally reached out to him via twitter while listening to one of his radio shows about soulmates and how his was probably living across the country, then he learned that they had a mutual friend. But Patrick was skeptical Stassi admits. Y’think?! “He was like ‘a 25-year-old blonde reality star that lives in LA? No thank you.’ That is literally what he said.” Stassi was persistent and reached out to him again on twitter a few months later and he remembered her as the girl their friend told him about.

“We texted back and forth for two weeks,” Stassi shares. “Then I was in New York for work and I met up with him and we’ve been together ever since. So I did stalk him!”

Since leaving the show Stassi has also started a podcast, and admits she’s officially left Bravo and reality TV behind her. She also has separated herself from social media and the “nasty comments people post to her.”
