Moving day for Sheree

Six Real Housewives Stars Will Be In A Sitcom Together

I hate to be a hater, but it’s usually pretty tough for me to take any Real Housewives side projects seriously. As much as I love the housewives (which is a lot), it’s difficult for me to think them as actresses, lifestyle experts, entrepreneurs, or whatever else they claim to be. With that said, six current and former Housewives are set to star in a sitcom together.

Yes, you read that right- not a reality show, but a sitcom. Still, the show is a reality TV satire, so they aren’t straying too far from the norm.

According to an article from Daily Mail, the show is called Altered Reality and it is being produced by former Real Housewives of Beverly Hills cast member Joyce Giraud’s husband Michael Ohoven, so obviously she’s going to be in it too.   It is about former reality stars who move to LA to find work as actresses and then they end up doing a reality show together when their acting aspirations get shut down by producers.

The only current Housewife to be a part of this project is Sheree Whitfield. Other than her, Jill Zarin, Joanna Krupa, Alexis Bellino, and Gretchen Rossi will also star in Altered Reality. Damn, those are some blasts from the past right there. Not only is that combination of people pretty odd, but the fact that Michael Ohoven has an Oscar to his name is something I never expected to be associated with anything involving Real Housewives.

Gretchen said, “I think viewers will love this show – it’s really over the top with the cat fights and drama and I am thrilled to be part of the cast. The script goes all the way with the stereotypes and misconceptions about reality stars, and we really play that up to illustrate the insanity that goes down in the world of realty television.” Considering that I (along with most of the viewers) found it tough to find any sincerity in Gretchen’s proposal to Slade Smiley, I don’t have extremely high hopes for her acting chops.

I could not help laughing when Jill explained, “My character is the ultimate diva always looking to make a buck.” That doesn’t sound like much of a stretch to me.  She added, “In the first episode, one of the main stars of the show dies in a freak accident. I can’t say who, but the first thing my character does is go out and hustle sponsorships for the funeral. It is really sick and twisted, but hilarious at the same time.” Once again, that doesn’t sound too off base for Jill.

Joanna said, “The reason I was interested is because it’s a scripted series,” but it gets better. She added, “I’m focusing more on my acting career and I thought it would be a fun project to play someone very different from me.” Considering that most people barely remember anything from Real Housewives of Miami, no one one is really going to know if this character is that different from who Joanna really is or not, but good for her. That ridiculous lawsuit against Brandi Glanville isn’t going to fund itself.
