“This fall, I was planning on being immersed in rehearsals for Singin’ in the Rain on Broadway, but due to successes of the shows currently running, that project has been delayed because there simply isn’t a theater available,” said Derek. “With my fall schedule freeing up I’m excited to say that I’ll be back on Dancing with the Stars for Season 23. It is always great to be back with my DWTS family, coaching, creating, and making lasting memories.”
Fan favorite pros Cheryl Burke, Derek Hough, and Maksim Chmerkovskiy are all returning to the ballroom this season. About her return, Cheryl said, “I miss my family. It’s been three seasons. It feels like it’s been a decade since I’ve been back on Dancing with the Stars. I am so excited to be able to be back and dance with Ryan and put that spray tan and glitter back on. I’m ready to be back and do what I was born to do.” Check out the complete cast list below and let us know if you plan to watch.
It’s that time of year again: there are plenty of rumblings about who may or may not be a part of the upcoming Dancing With the Stars season. As per usual, not everything is confirmed and there’s more rumors than facts, but there is still some definitive news: Amber Rose will be joining the cast. That should be interesting to say the least. There is absolutely nothing boring about Amber Rose, so that will be fun to see.
A good amount of the dancing pros that we are used to seeing will be back for next season as well and there’s also rumblings about Teresa Giudice joining the cast.
Who will Kim be competing against? Well, my eye is on, Full House star Jodie Sweetin, mixed martial artist Paige VanZant, and America’s Next Top Model winner Nyle DiMarco. Not only is Nyle easy on the eyes, but he is also deaf, which presents an interesting challenge for his partner Peta Murgatroyd. Check out the full cast list below and let us know if you plan to watch.
Our favorite reality TV stars cannot get enough of the spotlight during their regularly scheduled time slots, so they take to social media to share even more of their lives with us. And we would not have it any other way. Here’s a roundup of some of our favorite snapshots and selfies from this week. Enjoy.
In reality, Bindi Irwin and Derek Hough took home the mirror ball trophy last night, but Kim did finally get to perform the I Dream Of Jeannie inspired Samba she was schedule to do the week she withdrew. “It was very emotional,” shared Kim. “I had a stroke when I left. I had heart surgery three weeks ago. So, to be back here doing my dance, it goes way beyond the show and the experience. I am so thankful to be here.” See the weepy video Kim posted on Instagram after her 30 seconds of Samba below.
Below are photos of this season’s stars – Gary Busey, Kim, Bindi Irwin, Nick Carter, Hayes Grier, Victor Espinoza, Chaka Khan, Alek Skarlatos, Paula Deen, Alexa PenaVega, Carlos PenaVega, Andy Grammer, and Tamar – with their pro partners. Season 21 of Dancing with the Stars begins Monday, September 14th on ABC. Do you plan to watch this season?
As for the pro dancers, one of my favorite Dancing with the Stars pros, Anna Trebunskaya, is back. Unfortunately, she has been paired with Gary Busey. Why can’t I have nice things?!? Also disappointing, Peta Murgatroyd is out for the season due to an ankle injury. Peta was supposed to dance with “Honey I’m Good” singer Andy Grammer. He’ll dance with Allison Holker instead. Check out the complete list below and let us know if you plan to watch.
