Yesterday the news broke about Tinsley Mortimer’s (most recent)breakup with Scott Kluth. So it was perfectly awkward timing for her to be Andy Cohen’s guest on last night’s Watch What Happens Live episode. This is also on the heels of last week’s episode where she tried on wedding dresses (even though she wasn’t engaged) and FaceTimed her frozen eggs down in Florida after she forgot to pay the bill. Clearly there’s a lot to unpack with this (former?) relationship.
Tinsley discussed her most recent breakup with Scott, her confrontation with Luann de Lesseps’ ex-husband Tom D’Agostino in Palm Beach, Carole Radziwill and Bethenny Frankel’s beef, and other Real Housewives of New York drama in the Bravo Clubhouse.
Andy commented, “It feels like a new Lu.” Tinsley agreed and added, “It really does. I’m really impressed because I saw her afterwards, but I hadn’t seen all of that until now. I was really impressed.”
And then Andy asked about Bethenny and Carole’s drama, which is only fair since Bethenny has had Tinsley’s name in her mouth a lot this season. Even so, Tinsley tried her best to be diplomatic. She said, “My relationship with Carole is entirely separate from her whole drama with Bethenny and I really hope that I had nothing to do with any of it.”
Andy wondered, “What do you think is at the core of the two of them not getting along?” Tinsley responded, “You know, I honestly can’t say that I know. I think that what happened with Adam [Kenworthy] and the whole thing that happened with the charity and stuff really was something big because I think it her hard.” It hit who hard? Carole or Bethenny? Or both?
Tinsley insisted, “I hope that they work things out. I really do. I don’t want to be in the middle of anything.”
It is unclear if Andy was serious or if he was joking when he asked, “What was Scott’s reaction to last week’s episode?” Tinsley told him, “Well, you know obviously we filmed this months before and he did know all about it. I told him about it. He thought it was funny. I mean, he really did. He knows my mother. He knows how we are together. It was cute.” Andy also polled the audience about Tinsley trying on wedding dresses and 86% of voters agreed that it was “insane” to do.
Andy continued to hit Tinsley with some tough remarks and questions: “By the way, Us Weekly is reporting today that you and Scott broke up. What’s happening?” Tinsley admitted, “I know. Today is an odd day. The media is reporting that we did break up and it’s true.”
Andy couldn’t help reacting with a “No.” Tinsley clarified, “We are on a break right now. Look, it’s so hard to be in a relationship, particularly when we don’t live in the same town. He’s in Chicago.”
Andy told Tinsley, “You said you’re on a break.” Clearly flustered, Tinsley said, “Andy, don’t pressure me. Look, we’re broken up right now, but I’ll tell you this: we break up all the time. The media just doesn’t get a hold of it the way they did this time.”
Once again, it was hard to know if Andy was joking or not when he asked, “But it had nothing to do with last week’s episode?” Tinsley maintained, “It has zero to do with it. We actually had broken up a little bit before that.”
Moving on to the most recent episode, Andy asked if it was rude of Ramona Singer to try and get an invite to Tom’s New Year’s Eve party. Without hesitation Tinsley said, “Of course. That was horrible.” 94% of viewers polled agreed with Tinsley.
Tinsley was asked “Who treats their assistants worse: Bethenny, Sonja [Morgan], or Ramona?” Oh god. That is quite the question. Tinsley answered, “Ramona might be the worst out of all of them.” That is not shocking. At all.
A viewer texted a question for Tinsley: “Bethenny never seemed to warm up to you from the start. Why do you think that is?”
After a long pause, Tinsley said, “I…. I think that’s true. I think she’s a great girl. I wish that we would be able to have some moments together and be able to get to know each other a little bit better. I hope we can.” That’s definitely not happening now that Tinsley and Carole are so close. Unless Tinsley becomes a pawn in their beef- which is the last thing she wants, minus a potentially interesting story line.
A caller asked, “What’s going on with Dorinda [Medley]? She’s a fan favorite, but she’s picking on Sonja so much. She’s kind of being uncool.” Tinsley answered, “Look, Dorinda and Sonja have their own little issues and they do fight a lot, but they make up. They’re fine. They’ll be good. They’re friends. We all have our issues.” And that’s why you were all cast on a reality TV show.
Tinsley was asked, “What do you think about dating Shep Rose now that you’re single?” Tinsley revealed, “Shep and I have known each other for a little while. He went to boarding school with my sister Daphne. Ummm. No. That’s OK, but I think he’s great. Scott and I are working it out. Trust me.”
Andy wasn’t done calling Tinsley out. He asked her, “Did you finally register to vote?” She let out a long pause and said, “Ummmmm. I…..” Then she quietly uttered, “Because I lived in Florida.” Then she shared, “I promise I will register to vote in New York City. I promise. I’m sorry.”
The episode ended on an entertaining note when Andy said, “There’s a rumor you had it out with Tom in Palm Beach. How true is that?”
Tinsley confessed, “It’s actually a little true. I was in one of my friend’s restaurants and he came in there super drunk and he was in my back saying ‘Why are you in Palm Beach? Why are you in Palm Beach’ So I was like ‘Tom, my mother lives in Palm Beach. That’s why I’m here.’ It escalated. I actually removed myself from the situation because I didn’t want to have another Palm Beach moment. Somehow it ends up in Page Six and god knows where else. I told Luann about it though.”
TELL US- WILL TINSLEY AND SCOTT GET BACK TOGETHER?
