Real Housewives of Orange County Elizabeth Lyn Vargas

Elizabeth Lyn Vargas is an interesting addition to Real Housewives of Orange County. I say “interesting” because I genuinely can’t tell if I like her or not. She has all of the things you might want in a housewife. She has a billionaire ex-husband. Elizabeth has an obsession with general materialism fancy cars. Then, there’s her odd outlook on sex, and a kind of tragic backstory. Plus, she makes Shannon Beador squirm.

Shannon can barely contain her insecurity around Elizabeth because she knows she has some real green money. Elizabeth was married to Bernt Bodal, (sounds like a Bond villain), owner of American Seafood Group, for five years. We also know Elizabeth couldn’t take being a billionaire’s wife and that he got some other woman pregnant. That sucks all around, especially because he told her he didn’t want kids. Now, Elizabeth is coming to collect.

The Sun revealed details about Elizabeth and Bernt’s divorce, which was finalized in July 2020. They report that from “December 1, 2017, Berndt agreed to pay [Elizabeth] $31,000 per month until either parties’ death, Petitioner’s remarriage, or until further order of court.” The article also says that, “the basis for the amount of $31,000 was calculated by Elizabeth’s $1,721 income per month compared to Bernt’s $86,955 monthly salary.”

That “$31,000 includes monthly $11,368.09 mortgage payments, including principal and interest, on her $5 million beach-front mansion. The alimony also includes monthly payments of $2,050.08 for her 2012 Range Rover and $2,360.67 for her 2012 Bentley.

In addition, Bernt must disclose any bonus income and profit distributions received. Elizabeth is to receive 37.7 percent of the additional amounts.” Cut to Shannon who is seething, thinking she got gipped with only $10,000 a month for ten years.

A normal person could live lavishly on this payout alone. But let’s see how Elizabeth does. She recently shared on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen that her monthly clothing budget (when she was married at least) was, “”Oh, uh easily around $20,000-$30,000.” Here’s hoping she knows how to budget for these necessities.

TELL US- WHAT DO YOU THINK ABOUT ELIZABETH’S PAYOUT? IS IT UNDERSTANDABLE TO PAY THAT MUCH FOR CLOTHING? WILL SHE MAKE THESE FUNDS LAST?
