It’s reunion time! And the Real Housewives of Orange County are gathered for a safe, socially distanced sit-down at L.A.’s historic Wilshire Ebell Theatre. The ladies dressed in their best red, white and black, and they’re ready to do battle. Can you guys believe this is the fifteenth time we’ve done this in Orange County? We’ve certainly come a long way from watching clips from the season on a rolling TV in Vicki Gunvalson‘s grotto sans Andy Cohen. And also Kimberly Bryant. Remember her?
Let’s talk about the Real Housewives of Orange County reunion fashion, yes? The color palette doesn’t seem to have a definitive theme and the looks are…varied. To say the least. My personal vote for best of the bunch goes to Emily Simpson for her va-va-voom burgundy gown. It’s a fab update on the red velvet wrap dress she wore at the Season 14 reunion, which also happened to be my favorite look that year. (Em sure tends to turn it out come reunion time, doesn’t she?) It seems she knows red’s her color, and she looks better than ever.
Season 15 of Real Housewives of Orange County centered, for better or worse, around Braunwyn Windham-Burke. She admitted that she is an alcoholic. Braunwyn told RHOC viewers that she had physically hit her husband, Sean Burke, in front of their children. Sean, of course, stood up for his wife.
In December, Braunwyn announced that she is a lesbian. She started dating her girlfriend, Kris, but has no plans to divorce Sean. Braunwyn said, “I think, for me, the most important thing is when I’m with Sean, I’m with Sean. When I’m with Kris, I’m with Kris. … [I] give them a hundred percent of me when I’m with them.” Does Braunwyn have any time in her jam-packed schedule for her seven kids?
We haven’t even seen the Real Housewives of Orange County Season 15 reunion yet, but a major spoiler leaked. Braunwyn Windham-Burke ALLEGEDLY offered cocaine to Shannon Beador’s daughter Stella Beador.
Stella is 16 years old currently, but she was 14 at the time of the alleged incident. The allegation hasn’t been officially confirmed, but Braunwyn did respond to a fan comment.
This season of Real Housewives of Orange County hasn’t been the most exciting. Let’s be honest. However, my hopes are high for the reunion.
I have been wondering for days what Braunwyn Windham-Burke allegedly did to Shannon Beador’s daughter Stella Beador. Ever since that reunion trailer came out, I have been so curious. Of course, we will find out in due time since the reunion is airing soon. But, who wants to be patient when they’re craving the tea?
As the latest season of Real Housewives of Orange County wrapped, it’s hard to name a bigger turn around than cast member Braunwyn Windham-Burke. She ended last season with what we thought was a hot and heavy marriage. She even had a vow renewal this season. All seemed….good?
But cracks quickly started to show. And some of the bombs she has dropped this season were pretty unexpected, even for the unconventional housewife. She admitted she was an alcoholic and spent the season not only battling it, but defending it to the likes of Gina Kirschenheiter and Kelly Dodd. She also admitted to some pretty heavy stuff within her seemingly perfect marriage. Those things included slapping husband, Sean Burke and just an overall vibe of her not being into him. Cut to her in the last episode coming out as a lesbian. While reports indicated she wanted to stay married, Braunwyn is busy having a full on relationship with her 29-year old girlfriend, Kris.
Shannon Beador really annoyed me on this season of Real Housewives of Orange County. She has never been one of my favorites but listening to her cry about coronavirus really got under my skin. As much as I want to relate to how hard it is, crying about being away from your boyfriend for two weeks is just not a real problem in my mind. Especially at her age.
To make matters worse, Shannon drank her way through the season. We watched over and over how she poured herself a drink for every occasion. And drunkenly accosting Braunwyn Windham-Burke’s kids at Braunwyn’s vow renewal was not a good look.
All good things must come to an end, and then there’s this season of Real Housewives of Orange County. Because of the Rona, we didn’t have as many episodes produced, so that was a tiny gift to viewers. I doubt anyone will dispute it was Braunwyn Windham-Burke’s season. Not so much because she is a compelling individual, she just pulled every card in the Bravo playbook and laid them all down.
Elizabeth Lyn Vargas was supposed to be a breath of fresh air, but, was she? Elizabeth may or may not be hiding stuff about her marriage, divorce, and relationship with that dude she definitely isn’t banging. Shannon Beador’s new man was supposed to soften her attitude. Unfortunately, that ‘tude is sharper than ever and those edges are jagged – and for Christ’s sake, she asked for EGG WHITES. Our favorite scientist Kelly Dodd’s job might be on the line, because her mouth is it’s own entity. RHOC is finally over and the reunion is coming. Let’s see what we’re in for.
This is it! We made it to the season finale of The Real Housewives of Orange County! It came suddenly. Yet it took forever to get here. What a strange, strange season this has been. It’s worth noting before diving into the drama that, clocking in at just 14 episodes (and assuming there’s no Secrets Revealed episode after the two-part reunion), this is the shortest season in RHOC history since Season 4. That was back in 2008. During the earliest days of Tamra Judge pointing her finger across the table at Javier’s and accusing Gretchen Rossi of going to Bass Lake.
It’s also only one episode longer than the freshman season of RHOSLC that’s also airing right now. Blame it on the pandemic. Or on the First Ladies of Bravo showing their age after 15 years. Or some combination of both. But it’s truly unprecedented for a flagship show that has regularly delivered 20+ episodes per season for the last decade. And is it just me, or did it sort of feels like production just…decided to wrap things up? Was it the worst season in Housewives history? That’s to be decided. But was it one of the weakest? Almost certainly.
