Emily Simpson Real Housewives Of Orange County Reunion Part 1

Let’s just get one thing out of the way — the Real Housewives of Orange County was in desperate need of a revamp following its 2020 season. The void left by OGs Vicki Gunvalson and Tamra Judge was glaringly obvious. Shannon Beador wasn’t capable of being a ring-leader. And Kelly Dodd and Braunwyn Windham-Burke were competing for the title of worst Real Housewife of all time, whether it was due to their controversial statements or questionable actions. The drama wasn’t even fun to watch — cringe-worthy is a more appropriate description.

Bravo is attempting to bring RHOC back to the good old days (or as Vicki says, make it “classy” again). Heather Dubrow is headed back. And my fingers are crossed Tamra is coming with her. Boringwyn, Kelly Fraud and Elizabeth Lyn Vargas didn’t make the cut, leaving Shannon, Emily Simpson and Gina Kirschenheiter in the cast. If it was me, I probably would’ve gotten rid of all the women from Season 15 to start fresh. But Bravo is taking the necessary baby steps.

In case you didn’t know, Braunwyn lives for attention. Just look at how she’s taking her firing — spouting off during any interview she can and finding any way possible to make a headline. She conveniently announced her relationship with Fernanda Rocha (yes, that Fernanda) around the time of her firing. She’s already trying to figure out a way back in front of the cameras if her old BFF officially takes her orange on the show. And she’s battling the always eloquent Kelly, who blames Braunwyn for losing her job. Like I’ve been saying, both women did a pretty good job of doing that on their own.

Real Housewives of Orange County Elizabeth Lyn Vargas

Dare I say we might be in for a treat with the newly restructured Real Housewives of Orange County? We could be since Evolution and Bravo finally gave in to fans and exiled Kelly Dodd and Braunwyn Windham-Burke. About. Time. Neither of them have taken the news well. In fact, they’re taking it out on each other, which isn’t surprising or out of character for both of them.

With those two out, that leaves Emily Simpson (unfortunately, for some of us), Gina Kirschenheiterand Shannon Beador. Fortunately, however, Heather “fancy pants” Dubrow is BACK!! If you listen close enough you can hear the sound of plates smashing to the floor at the Quiet Woman, followed by Shannon’s screams. Oh, and I forgot to mention – Elizabeth Lyn Vargas got the axe as well. My brain must have blocked the news because I don’t remember her. It’s not that she was a bad person, it’s just that she wasn’t right for the show. Evidence of this can be seen in how she’s handled the news of her departure in contrast with Kelly and Braunwyn.

Braunwyn Windham-Burke

It’s clear from Braunwyn Windham-Burke’s few seasons on the Real Housewives of Orange County that she lived for being on camera. She got herself caught up in a web of lies and phoniness that definitely didn’t resonate with viewers. She shrugged off a lot of bad behavior including hitting her husband Sean Burke or offering drugs to Shannon Beador’s teenage daughter. And she uprooted her life as she knew it, as well as put her marriage in a rocky spot, all for Bravo just to not ask her back for Season 16. And to no surprise, she’s not taking it well.

Boringwyn got the boot alongside Kelly Fraud Dodd and Elizabeth Lyn Vargas. Shannon, Gina Kirschenheiter and Emily Simpson got to stay. And, in the most exciting news, Heather Dubrow is coming back. Pop the champs! There has also been a rumor going around that Braunwyn’s friend Noella Bergener, who briefly appeared on the show with her, could be hired on RHOC as Brauny’s replacement. Miss Paparazzi on Speed Dial isn’t going to like that.

Braunwyn Windham-Burke Real Housewives Of Orange County

Well, when Bravo promised some changes on Real Housewives of Orange County, they weren’t kidding around. Elizabeth Lyn Vargas was let go, as was the divisive Kelly Dodd.  And Braunwyn Windham-Burke was also fired after two seasons on RHOC.

And to everyone’s surprise (and my delight) “Fancy Pants” Heather Dubrow is returning for Season 16. Her plastic surgeon husband, DrTerry Dubrow, said earlier this month that his wife has a “never say never” attitude, and that he missed being on RHOC. I cannot wait to see the interior of the $21 million dollar home that the couple built in Newport Beach. It happens to be the most expensive Housewives home.

Braunwyn Windam-Burke Kelly Dodd RHOC

Is every Real Housewives of Orange County fan just feeling lighter this week now that Kelly Dodd and Braunwyn Windham-Burke officially got the boot? It feels like an actual weight has been lifted and the show isn’t doomed for good, mostly thanks to Heather Dubrow’s Season 16 comeback. Kelly and Braunwyn both brought RHOC down to a new level of nastiness, whether it was Covid Kelly’s insensitive comments or Boringwyn horrible actions including, but not limited to, offering drugs to Shannon Beador’s 14-year-old daughter.

Both Kelly and Braunwyn recently spoke about wanting to return next season, but it really wasn’t a surprise Bravo made a major shakeup in the cast. Many fans boycotted last season thanks to Kelly’s outrageous behavior. And the show lost its spark from the good old days of Tamra Judge and Vicki Gunvalson whooping it up at Andales. But Kelly really put the final nail in her coffin when she posted screenshots of a text exchange with Braunwyn after the casting news broke. B was seemingly reaching out to support Kelly. But Kelly lashed back at her and blamed her for them losing their oranges in the first place. Typical Kelly.

Real Housewives of Orange County Braunwyn Windham-Burke

I’m still screaming from the rooftops about Bravo righting their wrongs with the majorly necessary casting changes to the Real Housewives of Orange County. Heather Dubrow is BACK and I can’t celebrate it enough. I’ll need my own champagne room like Charrisse Jackson-Jordan to make it through Season 16. Kelly Fraud Dodd and Braunwyn Windham-Burke are OUT and I’ve never seen so much communal rejoice from the Bravo community. They were both toxic and insufferable in their own ways, and both were begging for a return after a season full of bad behavior. Elizabeth Vargas also peaced out after one season and it’s still unclear if Tamra Judge will make a triumphant return.

Boringwyn has not been taking the news of her RHOC firing well. But is anyone surprised? No narcissist would really be happy that the cameras don’t want to follow them and their convoluted life around 24/7. It’s obvious she and Sean Burke have a lot to work out off-camera, particularly the rules around Braunwyn having girlfriends on the side. Kelly and Braunwyn truly brought RHOC down to the lowest level of inauthenticity and toxicity while claiming to be the stars of the show. But their long-awaited demise has come, and the OG Real Housewives show has prevailed (Vicki Gunvalson aside).

Andy Cohen

The Bravo gods have answered our (my) prayers — Heather Dubrow is returning to the Real Housewives of Orange County. The news of Fancy Pant’s long-awaited return comes along with some arguably even better news — Kelly Dodd and Braunwyn Windham-Burke are OUT for good. No more Kelly Fraud’s nasty comments and total ignorance. Or Braunwyn’s over-the-top narcissism. Both ladies were eyeing for a return, but the fans have spoken. And Boringwin really uprooted her entire life as she knew it for a TV show that doesn’t want her back. What a shame. Oh, and Elizabeth Lyn Vargas is out after one season, but we hardly got to know her anyway.

The Fancy Pants news is just too much to bear. We’ll finally see the completed Dubrow family mansion. Terry Dubrow, despite duping fans about Heather’s return, will be back on our screens to provide plastic surgery advice and corny dad jokes. And this could lead to a potential Tamra Judge return, but no news has been announced yet. CHAMPS FOR EVERYONE, except maybe Shannon Beador.

Real Housewives of Orange County reunion Braunwyn Windham-Burke

I was ready to root for Braunwyn Windham-Burke. She was open about her struggles with sobriety, her attention-starved mother, and her sexuality, but then she just kept disappointing me as a viewer. From her “allegedly” staging paparazzi photo opportunities outside of the show to her offering her drug dealer’s contact information to Shannon Beador’s teenage daughter, the hypocrisy, and chronic need for attention just became too much.

And, I’m not the only one who felt like Braunwyn wasn’t right for the show anymore. She got the boot after just two seasons along with Kelly Dodd and Elizabeth Lyn Vargas.
