Emily Simpson Calls Elizabeth Lyn Vargas “Bizarre And Eccentric”; Shannon Beador Says Elizabeth “Is A Lot”

Season 15 of Real Housewives of Orange County has introduced us to newbie Elizabeth Lyn Vargas. No—not the Elizabeth Vargas who is a reporter and documentary host.

This Elizabeth is the Founder/CEO of digital music label and streaming service Edge Music. Elizabeth is also in the process of divorcing her husband, Bernt Bodal. She is friends with RHOC co-star Kelly Dodd. Viewers will have to wait and see if that is still the case after this season.

Kelly’s ignorant comments about the coronavirus pandemic have landed her in hot water. In September, Elizabeth posted a video on Instagram defending her friend. “Kelly has her own point of view. Why are you judging her?” Elizabeth commented.

In a hilarious twist, former RHOC star Vicki Gunvalson posted a response to Elizabeth’s video, which was shared by the Instagram account CommentsByBravo. Vicki simply posted, “Idiot.” Vicki may have left the show, but she will forever involve herself in Housewives drama.

In the Season 15 premiere, we learned some interesting facts about Elizabeth. First off, she has tons of cash, and she won’t let you forget it. She also grew up being poor.

What is most interesting is that her boyfriend refuses to have sex with her until her divorce is over. Ummm…OK. She is also planning to start a dog rescue organization. I am getting  Lisa Vanderpump vibes.

But what do the other Orange County ladies think of Elizabeth? In an interview with Entertainment Tonight, Emily Simpson shared her impressions of the rookie Housewife.

“I think she’s bizarre and eccentric, but I mean that in a good way. I even tell her that to her face. I’m like, ‘You’re so weird, but weird in an interesting way,’” Emily stated.

“Like, there’s a lot of layers to her. … I think she’s great on the show, because there’s so many different things that come up about her and she has a great personality,” Emily explained.

“She’s very, very bubbly and friendly and that comes off really well, I think, and she really makes an effort to be friends with everyone.” I think that RHOC could use someone who brightens up the show.

Fellow Housewife Shannon Beador seemingly agreed with Emily’s assessment of Elizabeth. Shannon told Entertainment Tonight, “She’s a lot, Elizabeth Vargas is a lot.”

Shannon added, “I had fun with her … she was fun, but you know, we kind of had a little something, too. She’s a very complex person and I’ll just leave it at that. There’s a lot of layers to peel off.” Perhaps Shannon and Elizabeth can put some lemons in a bowl and bond over feng shui.

This does make Elizabeth sound like a promising addition to the cast. And believe me, RHOC could use some refreshing personalities and storylines.
