Bethenny Frankel Says Erika Jayne Is On Real Housewives Of Beverly Hills Because She Needs Money

All the Real Housewives comments about Erika Jayne’s legal situation really indicate how intertwined the 1% really are.  These gals are separated by location and their Real Housewives spin offs, but they’ve met each other socially, or had business dealings.  And since news broke about Tom Girardi’s alleged embezzlement, and Erika’s own $25 million dollar lawsuit, in addition to a divorce filing that reeks of self-preservation, fellow housewives have come forward with their own opinions.

Bethenny Frankel recently revealed that Tom allegedly owed her late ex Dennis Shields $500,000.  She called the Girardi financial situation the “worse-kept secret” in Los Angeles.  Real Housewives of Beverly Hills alum Camille Grammer coyly disclosed that a “good friend” of Erika was gossiping about her finances during Andy Cohen’s baby shower.

Some Bravo-lebrities are questioning why Erika is on a reality TV show while under investigation.  After all, a video-recording is potential evidence on a silver platter.  Real Housewives of Orange County former cast member Heather Dubrow and RHOBH reigning queen Lisa Vanderpump questioned why Erika would stay on as a real housewife given her legal situation.  Was it her denial?  Or arrogance?

Well, Bethenny speculated that the reason is much more practical.  Money.  Hard-earned cash.  An honest day’s wage.  The B Strong founder made the comments on an upcoming episode of her “Just B with Bethenny Frankel” podcast.  According to an article from Page Six, Bethenny said, “she needs the money.  She’s on the show, which is not a great idea because they’re investigating the whole thing, but probably [is] something she needs or wants to do for her livelihood.”

So money and desperation then?  Yes and no.  Bethenny also thinks Erika continues to participate in the show for her own ego.  She added, “I think she did the show because she likes fame and she wants to stay relevant.”

Certainly it should be acknowledged that these are just speculations, and Bethenny said as much during her podcast.  “I don’t quote-unquote know Erika Jayne,” she explained, “I’ve met her and we’ve done this sort of Instagram thing and she was at my house doing the crossover ‘Housewives’ episode.  I have no idea if she knew [about Tom’s actions]. I know nothing about their marriage, nothing about their life. … We’re not all experts on someone else’s lives.”

Erika’s attorney gave a response to Page Six regarding Bethenny’s claims that Tom was indebted to Dennis.  Erika’s lawyer stated, “Erika has no knowledge of the alleged loans or the conversations referred to by Ms. Frankel, which even per Ms. Frankel, didn’t involve Erika.  To me, this is another example of people trying to throw dirt on Erika based on alleged conversations.”

Based on what Erika disclosed on RHOBH, the Girardis maintained a facade about their marriage.  Tom’s alleged mental decline was also carefully concealed.  So what is coming to the surface now is completely shocking.  What are we to believe or question?  It’s all speculation like Bethenny’s until the truth comes out.
