Teresa Giudice and her loyalty clause in friendship is central to the Real Housewives of New Jersey. It’s started many fights and ended many friendships. And that loyalty was put to the test when it came to who Tre would invite to her engagement party. Teresa announced her engagement to Luis “Louie” Ruelas in October of 2021 and its been a hot topic ever since. But despite her RHONJ castmates questioning if he’s the right guy for her, one friend refused to pop that love bubble – Dolores Catania. Which is why it was so surprising to learn that Teresa didn’t invite her to the engagement party.

As reported by Page Six, Teresa finally revealed the real reason when she appeared on an episode of The Slut Pig Podcast. Side note: the oddly named pod is a reference to what Kim Richards called Brandi Glanville when they fought on an epic episode of Real Housewives of Beverly Hills. But back to Tre. It turns out, she didn’t invite Dolores because of her years long feud with former RHONJ cast member Dina Manzo. Said Teresa, “I know her and Dina do not speak.”

She went on to explain, “But Dina’s in California, Dolores is here. So I can have relationships with both of them. Dina never tells me anything about Dolores and vice versa. Dolores doesn’t say anything about Dina.” Teresa added that she wanted she wanted to avoid conflict because her party was “small” and “intimate.” Said Teresa of Dolores, “I was like, ‘You know what? She’s gonna be at the wedding, and she’ll be fine.'”

This explanation is a departure from the one Teresa originally gave us on part one of the RHONJ reunion. She told Andy Cohen at the time that it was because the celebration was “couples only.” And that Dolores and her then-boyfriend had never been out with Teresa and Louie on a “double date.” People weren’t buying it and now we see why. Melissa Gorga mentioned that she was “in shock” that Dolores wasn’t there. She added, “You guys have been friends for so many years.”

But Dolores seemed unfazed by it all. She told Andy, “I would have liked to have been there, but I wasn’t mad because really, all I care about is her. But I felt bad when people asked me [why I wasn’t there]. So I called Teresa and said, ‘Was I not invited because you’re mad at me?’ And she’s like, ‘No, no, no, we only invited couples that we go out with.’ I thought, ‘That’s enough for me.’” Dolores also remarked, “If that’s how Louie and her wanted that party, that’s fine. My concern is her enjoying her day.”

In addition, Dina is going to be in Tre’s bridal party but Melissa and Dolores will not. As to whether or not Teresa’s big day will be filmed, Teresa isn’t so sure. She recently stated, “I don’t want it to be about everyone else. I just want it to be about, of course, Luis and I.  You always do things better and different at the same time.  So I’m doing it, and I want it to just be about us.”

Either way, Dolores and Dina will cross paths and will need to find a way to play nice. While Dolores never got into detail about her falling out with Dina, she did address the issue in February of 2021. During an appearance on Danny Pellegrino’s Everything Iconic podcast, Dolores said, “We just went our separate ways, I guess. Some people like to move on from another life and like to leave what’s behind them for a reason, I guess, whatever reason that is. Maybe they think you know too much about them, or maybe they’re not who they say they are. Whatever the case is.”
