Andy Cohen Reveals Which Real Housewives He Is Closest With

It’s no secret that Andy Cohen has his favorites. The Watch What Happens Live host and Bravo executive is the man who started it all. And with that, comes kinship with those he has seen rise to reality fame with him. But there’s definitely a line between boss and friend. It’s one that Andy recently acknowledged. Along with the housewives he has the “deepest” relationships with.

Andy spoke with The Hollywood Reporter and dished on his top 3. He stated, “It’s an unusual dynamic. The ones that I’ve been with the longest are the ones that I have the deepest relationships with. [Real Housewives of] Orange County started 16 years ago.”Andy continued,  “It’s wild to me, the amount of time that I’ve known [Real Housewives of New York]’s Luann de Lesseps, [Real Housewives of New Jersey]’s Teresa Giudice and [Real Housewives of Atlanta]’s Kandi Burruss. Those are people that I consider colleagues. I have great respect for them — but yes, there is that odd relationship.”

He then confessed that stepping down from a more executive role at the network has helped matters. Andy noted, “I think it’s gotten a little easier, though. I used to quite literally be in charge of programming at Bravo.” He then explained, “I try to be a helpful go-between between them and the network, in the case of contract disputes or things like that. I try to use my knowledge of what they’re going through and how the network feels to try to allay the situation and make it better.” No wonder Teresa has been on Bravo for so long. But we all knew that, didn’t we?

Andy did add that his hosting gig can make things awkward though. He shared, “But there I am on Watch What Happens Live every night, sometimes being incredibly shady. That’s something that they have to contend with as well.” Definitely shady, and I love it. It’s fun to see housewives get in trouble with their castmates because of it. Andy has the ability to put them on the spot like no other.

But the one housewife he wants to bring back is sadly out of his reach. Andy admitted to being a big fan of Alex McCord, who appeared on the early years of RHONY. With the announcement that RHONY splitting into two franchises – one being a Legacy series, Alex would have been the perfect fit. Andy admitted, “This won’t happen because she’s living a totally different life in Australia as a therapist, but it would be Alex McCord for RHONY: Legacy.”
