I know, I know. We need villains on Real Housewives. They are a necessary evil. Especially ones that consistently stir the pot each and every season. Enter Lisa Rinna on Real Housewives of Beverly Hills. She’s managed to become a staple on the show for going on 8 years. But it has amazed me that she hasn’t had her comeuppance yet. Because she has done so many people dirty along the way. This season seems to be more of the same.
One person who isn’t going to sit back and let Lisa manipulate her is Garcelle Beauvais. She’s quickly become the voice of reason on RHOBH and a formidable foe to boot. In fact, she’s the only one who really took up for Denise Richards when the women chased her off, thanks to Rinna. Who as we all remember, was her friend of 20+ years. It seems like Garcelle wasn’t willing to look past that and none of us can blame her.
Now Garcelle is telling Page Six that things between her and Rinna continue to go downhill. At a recent event, she noted that she “[doesn’t] know” how to describe their friendship right now. Garcelle shared, “There are tensions, so it’s like seeing an ex-boyfriend.” But housewives don’t always have the luxury of completely avoiding each other.

Such is the case for Garcelle and Lisa, who are set to present with the rest of the RHOBH cast at the 2022 MTV Movie & TV Awards: Unscripted show. RHOBH has been nominated for Best Docu-Reality Show. Garcelle surmised that she thinks her backstage time with Lisa will be “quiet.” She added, “We haven’t done that yet, but I’m sure it will be [super uncomfortable] because we don’t want to give anything away because of the reunion.”
As for whether or not she will ever be friends with Rinna again, Garcelle seems unbothered. She remarked, “We have to see how it plays out this season. I don’t want to jump the gun, I don’t know. I just feel like we have to see where we land by the reunion. We see the episodes two days before they come out, so you don’t really get to see an entire season and see how it plays out.”

Another point of contention for Garcelle is the fact that Lisa is gunning for her close friend, Sutton Stracke. Sutton outed Rinna and her husband for being freeloaders her guests at a charity event in 2019.
She told Andy Cohen on Watch What Happens Live that she never received a “thank you” from Lisa or Harry Hamlin. On the latest episode of RHOBH, we saw Sutton produce her receipts on the matter. But once again, Rinna managed to worm her way out of things without explanation.

Lisa has since gone after Sutton on social media, even calling her a “gold digger.” Garcelle stated of the feud, “It’s unfortunate because I feel that Sutton’s always getting the brunt of it. But [Sutton] is stronger than you think.” She added that Sutton came to play this season. Garcelle concluded, “I’m happy that you’re finally seeing her stand up. It’s great.”
