We’d all love to know some major Vanderpump Rules secrets, right? Have you wondered what happens behind the scenes at Pump Rules? While it’s called “reality TV,” fans aren’t exactly privy to every aspect of the show’s reality.
Now Ariana Madix, a VPR cast member since the beginning, is spilling some secrets. She recently told Us Weekly, “No one from the cast actually still works at SUR.” I think we all knew that, but it’s nice to hear someone confirm it.
Staying humble
That still doesn’t mean the cast is receiving any Real Housewives treatment. Ariana noted, “We never get wardrobe provided to us from the show.” The one instance where the cast gets hair and makeup is “when it comes to our cast photo shoot.”
As for filming, when the cast of VPR goes out, Bravo will only pick up two drinks. Anything else comes out of the cast’s pockets. “There is a drink limit while filming. If you want to drink after that, you have to pay for it yourself,” Ariana shared.
She then added, “If you’re going to have any drink whatsoever, they will make you Uber or Lyft.”
Ok, I want to know who pays for that! Alas, Ariana didn’t share that detail. But this is one of the Vanderpump Rules secrets that production probably don’t mind being out there, after the recent chatter surrounding alcohol while filming.
The biggest Vanderpump Rules secrets: Cast trips are a choice
Despite the restrictions, Ariana revealed that the cast has a tad more leeway on trips. She explained, “Cast does not get any location say when it comes to trips When it comes to attendees for cast trips, it’s up to you if you’re the one planning the trip sometimes, but even then not really. But if you don’t want to go, you don’t have to.”
AHA! I knew Katie Maloney could have just stayed home from Scheana Shay’s Mexican wedding.
As for the reality of her 10-year relationship imploding on film, Ariana has gained perspective. “This situation made me realize that I can do hard things. The worst-case scenario literally did happen, and I was OK. Like, look — you can handle what’s thrown at you,” Ariana concluded.
