Last week, Luke Brumer quit his deckhand gig on Below Deck Mediterranean. But then, he walked right back onto our screens via Watch What Happens Live. Luke answered every question thrown at him in the clubhouse, and he seemed genuinely remorseful for his actions this season. But was it enough to earn Luke a second chance with the fans?
Andy Cohen might say yes. He seemed impressed by Luke’s responses. Luke did not deflect or give any vague answers, and that alone is rare for a reality TV star. But was his humility enough to wipe all slates (and, ahem, sheets) clean with the audience, and in turn, maybe grant Luke another season on Below Deck Med?

Below Deck Mediterranean’s Luke Brumer screwed up personally and professionally on Season 11
Luke started strong. Nathan Gallagher even considered promoting him to the lead deckhand position. But then, Luke crashed a tender in Episode 2, and Nathan quickly changed his mind. That ended up being a solid decision, because soon thereafter, Luke lost his ability to concentrate on his work.
When Luke saw Joy Lefaucheur, he was immediately smitten. The feeling was mutual. But once Joy realized she was fighting for his attention, she dropped out, and Luke spent a wild night with Gen Lillie instead. The morning after, Luke and Gen went at it again, but this time, Luke left his seed on the sheets.
All good. Except not. These sheets just so happened to belong to Nathan. And after the fact, Luke failed to clean them.
Then, Luke started spiraling on deck. He was stressed that Joy might find out about his night with Gen. He was also stressed about letting Gen down, alongside trying to find the time to clean up his mess.
Several days and one sickness later, Nathan’s sheets remained soiled. When Nathan finally learned the truth, he was understandably disgusted. Everyone else was as well. So, Luke voluntarily resigned, a decision that Captain Sandy Yawn praised him for, and the rest is history.
Luke appeared on WWHL with Andy Cohen and expressed many regrets
Typically, yachties who leave midseason are never seen again on Bravo. But this was not the case for Luke. Instead, Luke just virtually appeared on WWHL with Joe Bradley. Shortly into their episode, Andy had Luke play several rounds of Do You Regret It, and during this game, Luke expressed many regrets, indeed.
First, Andy asked, “Do you regret not immediately changing the sheets after what happened?” Luke said, “1,000 percent.” But what about his “decision to leave the yacht?” After a pause, Luke confessed that he also regretted this choice, because “Intention doesn’t cancel impact.”
If yachting fails, Luke can always write a coffee table book filled with his quotes … Regardless, Andy next asked, “Do you regret not making sure Gen actually understood what you meant when you said that there was no love triangle, since it was obvious that she took it as good news?” Luke does, he answered.
But does he “regret having sex with Gen?” After a pause, Luke confessed, “Yes, I do.” And concerning the way he spoke to Gen at the restaurant, well, Luke, after another long pause, also regrets that. But he does not, Luke laughed, regret coming on WWHL this week.
Did Luke Brumer do enough to earn a second chance with Below Deck fans?
During that very same game, Luke started laughing. He asked Andy how his score was faring. Andy encouraged him, though, explaining, “You’re doing good! Listen, the more regrets, the better. That’s taking ownership.”
On WWHL’s YouTube reel above, one fan disagreed, writing, “Do you regret how you treated Gen at the restaurant … jeopardy music playing in Luke’s head and down below ... He is lying; he doesn’t regret it one bit. He is a player and a jerk.”
Luckily for Luke, however, he fared much better on WWHL’s Instagram post. “He did great!” one fan praised, adding, “I think they should have him back on Below Deck.” Another viewer agreed, reiterating, “Bring him back next season!”
From fans labeling Luke “A breath of fresh air for the deck team,” to just being a guy that is “so hot,” it is clear to see that, after his appearance on WWHL, many “hope we see [Luke] again.” Nevertheless, negative comments are also pouring in, suggesting, “He was and still is so unapologetic.”
