Real Housewives of Orange County reunion Kelly Dodd

Fans Slam Kelly Dodd Slammed For Editing Photos Of Her 15-Year-Old Daughter

Kelly Dodd doesn’t do anything quietly – or subtly – for that matter. Whether it’s calling Emily Simpson’s husband, Shane Simpson a wimp or screaming “who?” like an owl at Shannon Beador, Kelly gets off on confrontation. And ignorance.

Prior to being fired from Real Housewives of Orange County, Kelly wore a “Drunk Wives Matter” hat and spouted off a bunch of alternative facts about COVID. Needless to say, it was time for her to depart RHOC, along with Braunwyn Windham-Burke and Elizabeth Lyn Vargas. Since getting the boot, Kelly has channeled her ignorance onto Cameo. In her free time though she appears to be having fun with face tune.

The Sun reports that Kelly is getting heat from followers for using face-tune on her 15-year-old daughter, Jolie Dodd. “In the snap, both the mother-daughter duo have baby-like smooth skin that makes it hard to identify their various facial features.” The Sun also adds that, “the blurred filter also appeared to make Kelly’s eyes larger than normal.”

Housewives certainly love their face tune and it’s super obvious when they use it, too. But, to each their own! They’re grown women with agency who can do what they want with their bodies, faces, and pictures. However, it gets weird when they start to edit their own children.

Jolie is a beautiful girl without filters. At 15, things are hard enough, and having your mom edit your face would send any of us a sad subliminal message that we don’t look beautiful as we are even if that’s not Kelly’s intent. “Many fans demanded that [Kelly] ditch the heavy ‘editing’ [on Jolie] as she’s beautiful just the way she is,” per The Sun.

One follower commented, “Facetune so not needed.” Another follower told Kelly to, “drop the filter! You are beautiful!”

Other followers were more critical, commenting, “drowning out your daughter’s face with an obvious filter… great parenting.” One person commented directly, “Woah! This filter is way too much Kelly!!”

Editing your own face in pictures is up to you. But editing other people’s faces, your child specifically, is something else. The questions I have about face-tune, in general, are: do housewives know we can tell they’re using face tune? Or do they think it looks natural and authentic?

TELL US- WHAT DO YOU THINK ABOUT KELLY FACE-TUNING JOLIE? WHAT ARE YOUR THOUGHTS ON FACE-TUNE? DO HOUSEWIVES GET THAT WE CAN TELL WHEN THEY USE FACE-TUNE? SHOULD THEY TONE IT DOWN ON THEIR CHILDREN?
