Last week we finally got the long over due first part of the Shahs of Sunset reunion. It was good to see the cast back together again, and hear their thoughts on the latest season. Noticeably absent however, was newcomer Sara Jeihooni. I guess Sara’s one storyline of being upset her younger brother hooked up with Destiney Rose wasn’t enough to merit her joining the reunion. Better luck next year, Sara!
Still, the rest of the cast was on hand to bring the drama. Mercedes Javid walked off at one point, and Golnesa Gharachedaghi heckled Nema Vand. I guess even motherhood can’t make GG more mature. The main highlight of the night though was the season long feud between MJ, Reza Farahan, and his husband, Adam Neely, over whether MJ encouraged Ali Ashouri to confront Reza with the NSFW texts Adam had sent him. And things got even more heated between MJ and the cast during part two of the reunion.
The long-awaited Shahs of Sunset season eight reunion has finally dropped! Recently, Bravo has delayed a lot of their shows for several weeks, such as the Real Housewives, but Shahs got the short end of the stick with a several month delay. Regardless, it’s better late than never. As Mike Shouhed claimed, Shahs is the best show that Bravo has.
When we last left the Shahs of Sunset crew, the camp was divided between team Mercedes Javid and team Reza Farahan. Things were so bad between the group that Golnesa Gharachedaghi, Reza, and Mike didn’t even attend MJ’s sip-and-see for her baby on the season finale. But, that is minor drama compared to the rest of the season. We had such gems as Tommy Feight tearing up Reza’s backyard for posting about his wife MJ’s pregnancy complications online. In turn, Reza put a restraining order against Tommy. And this all started because Reza thought MJ was responsible for spreading rumors about his husband Adam Neely having strip Jenga parties. So, what drama will happen during the reunion? Let’s find out!
The most recent Shahs of Sunset season centered around the Reza Farahan vs. Mercedes “MJ” Javid feud. They both said and did enough horrible things to each other that the cast seemed to completely overlook Adam Neely’s shadiness with the sexting/Jenga of it all.
Their beef took up so much screen time that we didn’t get nearly enough Sara Jeihooni. She joined the show as a friend of Reza’s and an ex-girlfriend of R. Kelly’s. Yes, that R. Kelly. Aside from watching Sara cringe while Destiney Rose tongued down Sara’s brother in Las Vegas, we didn’t get a ton of Sara-centered storylines.
Shahs of Sunset had a very dramatic season. Mercedes Javid and Reza Farahan’s feud just kept getting worse. Reza and his husband Adam Neely have legal issues with MJ’s husband Tommy Feight. In case you forgot, Tommy vandalized their backyard and the whole incident was captured by security cameras. Destiney Rose hooked up with Sara Jeihooni’s brother.
Mike Shouhed declared (again) that he found the love of his life. We witnessed Golnesa Gharachedaghi’s heartbreaking journey to conceive, which included a miscarriage. There was a lot to discuss, but it never happened. Every other Bravo show got an Andy Cohen-hosted reunion via Zoom, but there was nothing for Shahs of Sunset. But don’t worry, you guys. There’s a very delayed reunion special on the way.
How is everyone feeling about this season of Shahs of Sunset? It feels like we waited forever just to have this season. Now that it’s here, I’m not really sure what to think. The show feels heavy and disjointed to me. Longtime cast member Golnesa Gharachedaghi has been on an IVF journey that ended in heartbreak. On a positive note, GG has gone on to have a successful pregnancy and is currently waiting the birth of her first child. Mike Shouhed is busy with another
sure to fail business venture, which happens every single season. Nema Vand? What is he bringing to the table this season? Shervin Roohparvar has been downgraded to a friend of, despite being in a ton of group scenes. #justiceforshervin. The only drama that is being brought to the table is between Reza Farahan and his best friend of 30 years, Mercedes “MJ” Javid.
As a quick recap, MJ is being accused of conspiring to take down Reza and Adam Neely’s marriage by spreading rumors of Adam’s transgressions. According to
my least favorite cast member, Destiney Rose, MJ put “friend of”, Ali Ashouri up to confronting Reza about the allegations. Those allegations include strip Jenga and inappropriate text messages that Ali describes as sexual harassment.
The whole thing blew up after a meeting between Ali and Reza, orchestrated by Destiney. Reza threw a glass of water in Ali’s face and MJ was somehow blamed for the whole thing. A huge (and controversial) fight erupted between Reza and MJ at a filmed pool party. This lead Reza to post a nastygram on social media about MJ, including her private medical history. Then her husband Tommy Feight went and broke some planters at Reza and Adam’s backyard, which resulted in a restraining order. Whew. Are you guys still following?
Shahs of Sunset fans are watching Golnesa Gharachedaghi’s journey to become a mom this season. It has been a long process for GG, who ultimately used a sperm donor and IVF to conceive.
Over the weekend, GG had a baby shower at her home to announce her baby’s sex and name.
It’s been way too long since Shahs of Sunset has been on my TV. It’s kind of weird timing for the show to return since the Academy Awards are on tonight as well, but I am thankful for my DVR.
After last season’s dramatic reunion, Reza Farahan and Golnesa “GG” Gharachedaghi decide to make up for the millionth time. However, GG and Destiney Rose are still at odds, not that I am at-all-invested in anything Destiney has going on since I feel like we barely got to know her last season.
Anyone who has followed the Shahs of Sunset drama in the off-season has heard about the Reza Farahan vs. Mercedes “MJ” Javid feud. There’s been a lot of shade back and forth for months. Oh, and some legal drama.
Now, there’s also some social media drama and it’s not just between Reza and MJ. Now, Reza has issues with Mike Shouhed, Nema Vand, and Shervin Roohparvar.
