When Austen Kroll joined Southern Charm, he was deemed the “New Shep Rose” and touted as the golden boy of the show, which are, clearly, two very contradicting descriptions. Nevertheless, Austen shed that golden boy persona last season when ex-girlfriend Chelsea Meissner claimed that she was his short-lived sugar mama, picking up the tab on dates.
This season has revolved around Austen’s relationship drama with
Shep Madison LeCroy. It started with that infamous video where Madison caught Austen with two women, while they were dating. Now, this season seems to revolve around their ups and downs. No one can say that Austen isn’t bringing it this year. However, the same cannot be said about some of his co-stars. There are plenty of people on this show who aren’t pulling their weight, just getting by commenting on other people’s storylines. Now, Austen is calling them out. Or at least he plans to at the reunion.
While the rest of the Southern Charm cast attempts to recover from the wrath of Madison LeCroy, one thing remains consistent: the never-ending custody battle between Kathryn Dennis and Thomas Ravenel. Thanks to a decision to unseal the records in Thomas and Kathryn’s legal feud, the media has been saturated with every petty move
Thomas the couple makes.
Thomas has recently requested full custody of Kensie and Saint, based on a drug test Kathryn allegedly failed. Kathryn has been upfront about substance abuse issues, but fully denies the recent accusation. Thomas has also subpoenaed everyone but Michael the Butler to testify regarding their relationships with Kathryn. For the most part, Kathryn has remained mum on the struggles she faces behind the cameras. Blocks of time with Thomas that have been revealed are disturbing at best. Now Kathryn’s mom is going in to defend her daughter, and she has some allegations of her own to expose.
Another day, another offensive remark from Southern Charm star Shep Rose. No, he didn’t call Madison LeCroy “white trash” again. But, who could forget when he asked Austen Kroll to demand that Madison “shut the f*ck up”? Shep has not been the most likable guy this season.
It’s hard to watch the latest episodes and not cringe in response to his remarks. Well, it got even worse and this time on Instagram Story.
Is Madison LeCroy set to be the next Naomie Olindo on Southern Charm i.e. will she earn a full-time spot on Southern Charm thanks to a dysfunctional romance with a cast member, Austen Kroll in this case? She just might. She really stirred things up during the last episode.
Madison claimed that Shep Rose gave Danni Baird chlamydia. She claimed that it was a fact… just because Austen relayed the information. How reliable! Now, Danni is speaking out about Madison’s claims.
It’s safe to say that the Charmers Colorado trip has been filled with highs
and highs and highs and lows, and last night’s episode of Southern Charm was just as hot and cold…and not just in the natural springs! After a night with the wicked weed, the group munches on a hearty breakfast before heading to the hot springs. Austen Kroll and Madison LeCroy conveniently found their way into the same bed, and Shep Rose can’t handle their early morning PDA. You know what I can’t handle, flashbacks of a grown man unable to function because he can’t handle his marijuana mashed potatoes!
Cameran Eubanks and an even more awkward than normal Whitney Sudler-Smith are taking the next plane back to Charleston. After her trip with the ganja gang, Cameran misses daughter Palmer more than ever, and Whitney…? Well, Whitney must feel embarrassed after what when down at dinner with Kathryn Dennis, right?
Cameran Eubanks and Whitney Sudler-Smith leave the Southern Charm cast behind on the Colorado trip, but the drama really turns up in their absence.
Madison LeCroy claims that _________ gave ______ a sexually transmitte disease! How surprising/not. And, of course, she claims that Austen Kroll is the one who told her that. So it must be true? Yikes. So much for getting back together.
Southern Charm has been pretty low key this season, which is fine by me. Shep Rose has adopted an adorable puppy. A new pillow business venture has been occupying Craig Conover’s time. Cameran Eubanks talks–a lot–about how difficult being a new mother is. Usually dramatic Kathryn Dennis has a potentially fascinating storyline–but for legal reasons, isn’t able to share much of it.
So, by default, Austen Kroll’s post-threesome relationship with Madison Lacroy has received a lot of screen time. Viewers will forever have a video image of a boxer-briefed Austen yelling at Madison–and seemingly blaming her–when she literally catches him with his pants down. Austen hasn’t been all fun and games this season, however. He is trying to launch a new beer business and has struggled to make it happen. Earlier in the season, Austen admitted that his new business had hit some road blocks on the way to the marketplace.
If last week’s episode Southern Charm was the introduction of Mary Jane into the cast (with cameras involved, obviously), last night’s show was a sky-high debacle. It’s the first day on the mountain for the Charmers, minus Shep Rose who is still nursing a drunken knee injury and Whitney Sudler-Smith who is still crying over a ski accident from childhood. Chelsea Meissner is channeling Putin’s mistress, Austen Kroll is pretending he’s not trying to hook up with ex Madison LeCroy, and the majority of the girls are headed to ski and snowboarding lessons.
Over a pre-slope breakfast, Austen denies any smooching with Madison, but he’s not going to lie and say he doesn’t want to rekindle that flame. Cameran Eubanks recognizes that this trip will not be rejuvenating her mojo as she FaceTimes with baby Palmer. The group is quick to motivate, waiting on Kathryn Dennis to don her Tellatubbie/Charlie’s Angels (original, not the reboot) ski look. It’s a lot, but it is magnificent.
