Survivor Game Changers

A season of Survivor called “Game Changers” had a lot to live up to, but it delivered on all accounts. Wednesday night saw Season 34 come to a close with four Tribal Councils that whittled down the remaining six contestants to just one…the Sole Survivor and winner of the million dollar prize.

It was a dramatic ending to what has been a crazy season, and I had the chance to speak with all six of the Final Six players in the game heading into the Finale, including the winner. But before we proceed, you know the drill: Make sure only to read on if you have seen this week’s episode, as spoilers are to follow! Turn back now! If you want to get caught up, be sure to check out the Finale Episode Recap here.

Survivor Finale

That’s pretty much the question isn’t it? Tonight, the 34th (!!!) season of Survivor – the world’s greatest Reality Competition TV Show – will come to a close, where one of the six remaining “game changers” will be crowned the Sole Survivor and win a million dollars. Like we have grown accustomed to, tonight we will be treated with a two-hour finale episode, followed by the one-hour live reunion show, where hopefully Sia doesn’t show up this year.

And boy oh boy is there a lot of game still to be played. Not only are we down to six people, but there are still three Immunity Idols and the “Legacy Advantage” still in play heading into tonight. Get strapped in and ready, because we’re about to break down the chances of the remaining players left in the game and get you set for tonight’s big finish.

Parting Is Such Sweet Sorrow

Well holy crap, that just happened! It was a rushed, whiz-bang episode of Survivor, featuring not one, but two Tribal Councils. Oh yeah, and it was also the last regular episode of the season before next week’s two-hour finale. The first Tribal of the evening was fairly straight-forward, but if you are like me, that last one left my head spinning. Let’s get to the bottom of what went down.

Be sure to read the fine print, as this week’s recap is non-transferable and can’t be stolen. Please only proceed if you have seen Episode 13 of Survivor: Game Changers. And while we WILL hit on all of the important developments, remember that this is more of a discussion and analysis and not a blow-by-blow account of how the episode played out.

Parting Is Such Sweet Sorrow

We have reached the penultimate episode of Survivor: Game Changers and it looks to be a doozy. Heading into tonight, there are still eight contestants, three hidden Immunity Idols, a Legacy Advantage, and a “Steal-A-Vote” Advantage in play, so all signs point to a strong and dramatic finish.

That will be evident tonight, when not one but TWO players will be sent to the jury during the show’s two Tribal Councils. It is not a two-hour “double” episode, but will instead feature two Tribal Councils in the show’s normal one-hour time-slot. That means that you can expect a fast-pace tonight as we dwindle the numbers down to the final six players that will have made it to next week’s Survivor: Game Changers finale.

Survivor Game Changers

It’s the home-stretch on Survivor: Game Changers, as we are nearing the point in the game where there are more players on the jury than left in the game. On this week’s Episode 12, the jury grew by one once again, leaving just eight players remaining in the game with only (gasp!) two episodes left this season. I had the chance to chat with the most recent person voted out of the game.

Caution, as spoilers from this week’s episode are to follow! Turn back now! If you want to get caught up, be sure to check out the Episode 12 Recap here.

It's Not a High Without a Low

Michaela had a big night tonight, full of quotable one-liners. But her line at Tribal Council, that this is a “we” game until the moment it becomes a “me” game speaks to the underlying heart of this competition show. Jeff Probst reacted to this statement with a grin and a “wow,” knowing that this young spit-fire just pretty much summed up Survivor in a nut shell.

There were some beers, tears and cheers on tonight’s “loved ones” episode (and maybe even a few jeers), but before we get ahead of ourselves, make sure you know that there are spoilers to follow, so only proceed if you have seen Episode 12 of Survivor: Game Changers. And while we WILL hit on all of the important developments, remember that this is more of a discussion and analysis and not a blow-by-blow account of how the episode played out.

It's Not a High Without a Low

You always can tell we’re nearing the end of a season of Survivor when we get to the classic “loved ones” challenge. Well, we’ve reached that point as of tonight. Love it or hate it (I’ve felt both emotions in past seasons, sometimes simultaneously), the “loved ones” episode is always powerful and emotionally charged and usually acts as a catalyst for at least one Survivor to re-focus and will themselves to the end of the game.

Reinventing How This Game Is Played

It’s getting tough out there on Survivor. With the Finale fast approaching (May 24…mark your calendars!), we find ourselves down to just 10 players left in the game heading into last night’s episode. It has been a season full of big moves, aggressive strategies, and the occasional blunder. “Game Changers,” Hali stated from the jury seats after tonight’s Tribal Council. “Idiots,” Deb countered. They may both be right.

But before we try to think of an 11-letter word to describe last night’s new episode, let me first warn you that there are spoilers to follow, as we will be discussing in detail the event’s that took place during last night’s episode of Survivor: Game Changers. And while we WILL hit on all of the important developments, remember that this is more of a discussion and analysis and not a blow-by-blow account of how the episode played out.
