I have no idea why Patricia Altschul isnât the narrator on Southern Charm, but she really should be. She knows everything about everyone and she has no issue telling it like it is, especially when it comes to her own son Whitney Sudler-Smith.
Thatâs why I was so happy when she stopped by the Bravo club house to talk Southern Charm with Andy Cohen and throw shade at just about everyone from the cast. I donât agree with everything she said, but I love her for sharing her truth while she was wearing a caftan with photos of her dog on it. Thereâs no way that I couldnât appreciate a person rocking that outfit.

Apparently I was the only one who agreed with Craig Conover when he was offended by Thomas Ravenel ignoring his children during a break from his polo match. Apparently thatâs not the Southern way or some bullshit like that because everyone else in the cast disagreed with Craigâs sentiment.
Even Patricia was pro-Thomas on this one. She said, âInterestingly enough, I asked Thomas about that and he said- and I agree with him- âWhen you are playing polo, it is an extremely dangerous game.â He wanted the children off of the field. He wanted to concentrate because if you lose your concentration you can get killed on the polo field.â This was during a break though. Thomas wasnât even on the field. He was sitting on the sideline sipping a water bottle with the other cast members. Why couldnât he say hello to his own kids?
Someone else who didnât seem to have a way with kids during that last episode was Whitney. He looked so uncomfortable when Cameran Eubanks handed over baby Saint Ravenel for him to hold, but Patricia insists that thereâs more to the story. She explained, âActually the baby had a rash and Whitney is a germaphobe. Cameran did it as a joke.â
Then Patricia made the show even better by giving Andy custom pajamas with photos of his dog Wacha printed on them. And the episode got pretty serious again when the conversation turned to Kathryn Dennis and Patriciaâs lack of relationship and abundant shade throwing back and forth.
Patricia said, âI would be a hypocrite if I said I was yearning to get to know her better. However, I am hopeful that she will turn her life around this year.â She later rebuffed claims that there is a double standard against Kathryn that doesnât apply to Thomas. Patricia teased, âI think that you should watch the entire season because you are going to have some things divulged to you that you didnât know for sure- and thatâs the reason why.â I guess we will have to wait to see what those things are.
Unlike most of the other cast members and viewersâŚ.and anyone with eyes, Patricia doesnât think that Thomas and Landon Clements actually hooked up. She theorized, âI do not think and Iâll tell you why. There are two reasons. Thomas cannot keep anything to himself. If you see them together, they have no chemistry. They have absolutely zero chemistry. I think theyâre just friends.â This topic will never get old⌠not until I get the answer that we all want to hear. I want a confirmation that these two are more than just friends, but at the same time I donât know how I would deal with them being a couple.
Patricia didnât pass up the chance to shade Craig and defend his girlfriend Naomie Olindo. She declared, âNaomie is getting a Masterâs Degree in finance and Craig is making birdhouses.â Damn. Thatâs cold. Still, she did follow up by adding, âI love Craig, but they argue a lot this season.â
Patricia also shared her thoughts on the bro code tenants in regard to Shep Rose and Austen Krollâs mutual interest in Chelsea Meissner. She didnât have a lot to say, but she did declare, âAllâs fair in love and war.â And reality television.
