Great news everyone! Our long, national nightmare has finally ended! No, we haven’t reached world peace, but this is almost as good. Everyone’s favorite Rock of Love throwback, Shannon Beador, has reached a divorce settlement with ex-husband, David Beador. Thanks to God, Buddha, and Dr. Moon, the Real Housewives of Orange County mama’s suffering has come to a close! No, I’m just kidding, then we wouldn’t have a show.
Shannon and David went through the proverbial ringer during their marriage. Vodka, “the affair“, and mystical hypochondria were only a few of the culprits in the demise of their union. However, the couple did go through extreme measures in an attempt to resolve their numerous issues. Remember when David had to pretend Shannon was dead during a therapy session? Quite frankly, I also required therapy after what we viewers endured when all of this was going down… Thankfully for all of us, Shannon and David Beador are NO MORE, so now comes the good part. Settlement time, baby!
In September of 2017, the 17-year marriage of Shannon and David saw its last crack in the facade of happiness. People confirmed after three days of negotiations regarding finances concerning their custody battle, the settlement was submitted to an Orange County judge. The No More Beador’s are parents to daughters Sophie, 17, and twins Adeline and Stella, both 14. Last March, Shannon was awarded joint legal and physical custody of the girls and a whopping $22,500 per month for child support. Call me shallow, but that financial windfall would take the sting out of divorce for me just a tad.
Details of the settlement are under wraps for issues of privacy, which is a nice change of pace for the exes. Both Shannon and David allowed the world, and unfortunately, their kids, to witness details of the troubled marriage that should have at least been kept from the children. Unfortunately for Shannon, in Season 10 of RHOC, she learned about “the affair” just days before filming began. And then ALL OF US knew about “the affair”. For years, we heard about “the affair”. In fact, “the affair” was as much as of a cast member as any of the actual women who film. “The affair” should have been given an orange in the opening credits. I’m all for open dialogue, but sometimes it was a lot to take in.
Shannon and David did go through the motions of trying to repair their marriage, even renewing their vows in a surprise ceremony. Sadly, renewing your vows on anything to do with Bravo often results in the kiss of death. Am I right, Vicki Gunvalson?
and his eyeballs started to feel the drift shortly after the renewal took place and he began distancing himself from the family. It didn’t help matters that Shannon was clearly devastated, under a huge amount of stress, and completely raw, which manifested itself in a 40lb. weight gain.
This was due in part to emotional eating and Vicki telling anyone who would listen (who listens to her?) that David #allegedly used to beat the crap out of Shannon. As if Shannon needed one more thing to worry about. Oh that Vicki, she’s such a gem. The weight gain supposedly “disgusted” David and created a further wedge in their marriage. Douche, I mean, David had “checked out” of the union, according to his ex-wife and she constantly struggled in a state of limbo with the relationship.

Shannon feels “relieved” the divorce has finally come to a close and the vicious battle is over. I am also relieved the divorce has finally come to a close… She wrote on Instagram that she had “a tough day that ended in celebration.” Where did she go to celebrate? Her favorite hangout, The Quiet Woman, where no woman is ever quiet… She must have been in a pretty good mood because no plates of food were thrown this time.
TELL US- DO YOU THINK WE WILL FINALLY SEE A HAPPY SHANNON THIS YEAR? ARE YOU LOOKING FORWARD TO THE NEXT SEASON OF RHOC? DO YOU THINK SHE WILL HAVE A POSITIVE ATTITUDE NOW THAT THE DIVORCE IS FINAL?
