Kathy Wakile Has No Relationship With Melissa Gorga; Denies That She Expected Melissa To Help Her Stay On Real Housewives

Real Housewives of New Jersey has always been about family. We watched former “OG” Caroline Manzo wrangle her brood, and  became invested in Teresa Giudice and her extended family. These familial connections, whether close or strained, have always been the heart of this franchise. And so has the glorious food. Remember Kathy Wakile’s cannoli and dessert creations? Just please don’t bring sprinkle cookies to Teresa’s  house. Or she might flip a table.

Teresa’s sister-in-law, Melissa Gorga, had some tension last season with Teresa. Teresa found that Melissa’s inability to control her husband (and Teresa’s brother), Joe Gorga, was really annoying.  Melissa remarked that there are some “shocking” moments in the upcoming season between the sisters-in-law. Melissa also discussed how she is taking on Danielle Staub next season. But what Melissa hasn’t done is tried to mend fences with RHONJ alum Kathy.

In November of 2018, Melissa told Andy Cohen on Watch What Happens Live that there was “tension” between the co-stars because Kathy “felt like everyone should’ve helped her stay” on RHONJ. She added that she and her husband, Joe, have no relationship with the Wakiles. That makes me a little sad.

Kathy joined the show in Season 3 and was a full-time Housewife for three seasons. She popped up occasionally in Seasons 6 and 7. In an interview with HollywoodLife, Kathy explained why she is fine having no relationship with Melissa. Kathy also denied that she wanted Melissa’s help to stay on the reality show.

Kathy said, “No, that’s ridiculous. She’s not in charge of the show. Then, for her to think that people would actually believe something like that, that’s ridiculous. She didn’t have that much power,” Kathy revealed. “In her head, she has that much power, but in real life, no, not so much.” Yikes!

But Kathy doesn’t miss appearing on the reality show. “Well, to be quite honest, my life revolved a lot more and not only about the show, and theirs is about the show. When I say show, I don’t mean just show, TV show,” Kathy shared. What? I am confused. “Now, you know, people’s true colors come out,” Kathy stated. She added that that Melissa “has her version, and I have the truth. You know, it’s all good.”

Kathy has kept busy with her New Jersey restaurant, Pizza Love, and her cannoli dessert kits. She has also been concentrating on her family. “Right now, my life’s here in my home with my family. It’s really peaceful, and happy, and it’s very fulfilled,” Kathy said. The chef shares daughter Victoria Wakile and son Joseph Wakile with her husband, Rich Wakile. I assume that Rich is still hot and sizzling for his wife. That statement is forever burned into my brain.

As for Kathy’s cousin Teresa, there has been no communication since their infamous Season 7 conversation. Teresa met with Kathy and Kathy’s sister, Rosie Pierri. I love Rosie! Teresa told the sisters that she needed to “cut the cancer out” and ended their relationship for good. That was brutal to watch. I had hoped that maybe, eventually, there would be a reconciliation between the Guidices, Wakiles, and the Gorgas. So that they could be one big, bickering, dysfunctional family again.
