Heather Thomson appears

Heather Thomson Confirms Return To Real Housewives Of New York; Does Not Want To Be Full-Time

Season 13 of Real Housewives of New York will be a time of embracing progress, and also giving a nod to the past. Viewers knew that RHONY would be adding some new blood. Tinsley Mortimer quit the show to move to Chicago with her love (and now fiancé) Scott Kluth. Dorinda Medley’s tirades against all her co-stars, especially Tinsley, led to her eventual firing.

For Season 13, Eboni K. Williams joined the cast as the first Black housewife. Finally! And now we have confirmation that RHONY alum Heather Thomson will also be appearing on the show. Welcome back, Mama!

I must admit that I was sad when Heather exited the show in 2015 after three seasons. I missed her straight-talk and confidence. She popped up in cameos on several seasons. Last season, RHONY viewers were treated to seeing Heather at Dorinda’s dinner party in the Berkshires.

Lest anyone forget, Heather was the first to put the Berkshires on the Real Housewives map. And Ramona Singer had a melt-down because of the shabby accommodations at Heather’s house, and lack of air conditioning. Oh, Ramona! Some things never change on RHONY.

In late October, rumors were swirling that Heather might be returning to the franchise when she was seen filming at lunch with Ramona and Luann de Lesseps. According to HollywoodLife, Heather discussed the upcoming season during an interview on TVTalk on Instagram Live.

Heather said, “I really like dropping in on the show. Since I left, I’ve been back. I left [after Season 7], but I never really left,” Heather explained. “I always like to touch base with the ladies and [now there’s] all this intrigue about [my] big return.”

Holla! So, will Heather be holding an apple next season? Not so fast.

“No, I really can’t [return full time]. I wish I could on one level, but on another level, I’ve got a lot going on which is great,” Heather explained. Heather is hosting a podcast called In My Heart. She also created Beyond Fresh Super Foods.

“I’ve got two teenagers. I’ve got two new businesses that I’ve started and listen, Housewives is a lot of work. I know it looks like and it is –We get followed around and we show off our lives, but really Housewives is –Especially New York and with some of the OG’s it’s slapstick,” Heather revealed.

“It’s comedy. I know it gets dark and it gets toxic. I don’t love that part of it,” Heather confessed. She added, “I love to talk about real issues and real important things and as long as I can lend to that on the show then I’ll always come back.”

Andy Cohen weighed in on Heather’s return during a recent interview on the podcast  Everything Iconic With Danny Pellegrino.

Andy shared, “You will be seeing Heather next season. At this point, Heather has now known these women for eight, nine [years]. She speaks their language,” Andy stated.

“She’s not afraid to stand up to them. She knows them so there is a great benefit in bringing legacy cast members back.”

TELL US- ARE YOU HAPPY THAT WE WILL SEE MORE OF HEATHER NEXT SEASON? WOULD YOU LIKE HER TO COME BACK FULL-TIME? IS THERE ANOTHER FORMER RHONY STAR THAT YOU WOULD LIKE TO SEE RETURN?
