What a wild and crazy ride 2020 has been. This year has been devastating in so many ways. While some positives have come from the recently highlighted Black Lives Matter movement, it’s honestly appalling we’re still having to explain racism to grown ass adults. Then there’s the entire pandemic some people are still pretending doesn’t exist. The audacity.
We’re almost through this torturous year, but not in time for one of Bravo’s most renowned and beloved pets.
Gigolo “Giggy” Vanderpump passed away the morning of 12/12/2020. His owner, and human mother, Lisa Vanderpump shared the news with fans and followers in an Instagram post later the same day. She posted a picture of the iconic Pomeranian and wrote, “We are devastated to say that our beloved Giggy has passed away this morning. He was truly loved, and we know how many of you loved him too.”
Lisa also took time to honor the role Giggy played in her entrepreneurial and charitable endeavors. Her caption said, “Our sweet Gigolo was such an incredible, unique dog, but mainly, because of him, we started The Vanderpump Dog Foundation and embarked on our mission to save as many dogs as possible. He inspired us to start our work in rescue, and for that we will always be grateful. Giggy’s legacy will live on, through every dog @vanderpumpdogs saves. Thank you all for your support. Rest In Peace Giggy, we love you. – Ken [Toddd] & Lisa”

Of course, viewers of Real Housewives of Beverly Hills or Vanderpump Rules will never forget Giggy. He was the center of whole story lines in the early years. He has his own star on the Palm Springs walk of stars. Not to mention, this dog was dressed in all the trappings of a campy 1880’s Sir Elton John at all times. Giggy’s alopecia diagnosis came with a doctors note to slay, apparently.
One thing we know, Giggy will be deeply missed. RIP little sweetie.
