The Real Housewives of New Jersey women wasted no time launching into the Season 11 drama. It’s been a lot. If you still need time to google what an “analogy” is, take that time right now. …..K….you good?
So yea. Jackie Goldschneider’s use of this language tool completely stumped Teresa Giudice. It apparently confused her adult daughter Gia Giudice too. ICYMI, Teresa spread a rumor she heard about Jackie’s husband cheating. To demonstrate what hearing a false rumor about your loved ones feels like, Jackie facetiously said she heard Gia snorts coke. While Teresa is much further removed from elementary Language Arts courses, it’s honestly still a bit baffling that neither she or her daughter seem to understand it was a comparison, not a statement of fact. As if it makes what Teresa did excusable either way.
Of course, these episodes were filmed a while ago. Since then, Jackie is reported to have apologized to Gia. The Giudice’s attorney has confirmed this as well, but not before he took his side. He stated, “Jackie is a very smart woman, but what she did was incredibly stupid. Analogy or not, you’re referencing a young woman and putting her name in a sentence that includes the mention of drugs on national television, knowing that is a false statement.”
Let’s replace his use of ‘young woman’ with ‘adult.’ Or maybe ‘person willingly participated in reality TV since she was old enough to consent.’ This clarity is important. Gia herself seems to think signing on to reality TV means signing on to having rumors spread. Don’t hate the player, girl! (Oh, gentle reminder, it wasn’t even an actual rumor, it was an analogy).

Okay back to her lawyer revealing Jackie has apologized. He added, “My understanding is that Jackie and Gia did communicate this week.”
He revealed, “Jackie apologized and I do believe her apology was sincere. Gia is an amazing young woman and both of her parents are very proud of her. This should have never happened.” I mean, the last part, we can agree on. But has anyone ever explained the concept of ‘playing with fire’ to Teresa? Or did she also miss out on idioms?
Honestly, these people pretending a simple drug “accusation” is life ruining is a lot. Shake it off as false and/or age appropriate and private behavior. Let’s move on. Like really. For a woman with two felonious parents, who grew up surrounded by cheating rumors, this is a stretch.

This family would have a lot more to worry about if they’re really concerned about this show speaking for their character. Just saying. If anything I feel sorry that Gia still feels she needs to pander and defend her mother’s delusions and flat out stupidity.
