Philanthropist, reality star, chef, the inventor of the margarita — Bethenny Frankel is known for many things. But did you know that at one point, she was thinking about trying her hand at music? Yes, you read that right. And when you’re a multi-hyphenate Real Housewife looking to dabble into music, there’s no one better to turn to than another iconic multi-hyphenate Real Housewife. So, Bethenny reached out to none other than The Real Housewives of Atlanta’s Grammy award-winning singer-songwriter Kandi Burruss.
As Bravo’s The Daily Dish reported, Kandi recently appeared on Watch What Happens Live to promote her new series Kandi & The Gang. During a Q&A, Andy Cohen asked Kandi if any other Real Housewives cast members have ever asked to collaborate on music. Of course, Kandi and Kim Zolciak-Biermann practically invented a new music sub-genre with their collaboration, “Tardy for the Party.” So unquestionably, some other Housewives have come knocking on the doors of the Kandi Factory looking to replicate its success.

“Multiple Housewives,” Kandi revealed. “But one that you would probably be surprised would be Bethenny. She reached out to me to work with her on a song. This was a long time ago. I can’t even remember what she was trying to use it for.”
Kandi needs to think really, really hard to try and remember what Bethenny was trying to do because it’s tough to imagine her jumping on a track and singing just for the fun of it. Maybe she was trying to do something poppy and upbeat to promote a new Skinnygirl product? Or, perhaps she was planning on launching a cabaret career?

The world may never know what Bethenny and her golden voice were preparing for our ears, but Andy was giddy at the revelation. He responded, “I love that. You didn’t say yes to any of them. You were one and done with Kim Z.”
Kandi reminded Andy that she did actually collaborate with another RHOA castmate years ago, 2015’s “Unnecessary Trouble,” with Demetria McKinney. But, unfortunately, that just wasn’t quite as memorable as “Tardy for the Party.”
Kandi replied, “No! Actually, I did do something with Demetria. But everybody else, I was just like, ‘I don’t want the drama.'”
Staying out of the drama is totally on-brand for Kandi, and after the debacle with Kim, you can’t blame her for not wanting to mix Housewives and music ever again. The check would probably have to be humungous to get her to budge on that.
