Go little rockstar! On March 15th, Katie Maloney-Schwartz took to Instagram to announce, “I never thought I would have to make an announcement like this. After 12 years on an adventure through our life together Tom [Schwartz] and I are ending our marriage.” She added, “This ending is not met with resentment or animosity, no sides to choose.”
Despite there being “no sides to choose”, I am firmly team Katie. James Mae T-shirts are on deck. Go do a little Vanderpump Rules rewatch and consider yourself enlightened. I won’t go into all the details, but it’s hard to watch so many fans of the show ship a grown man who can’t hold down one fill-in shift at SUR, let alone bathe before his nuptials.
Katie is a mess for sure, but gaslighting your girlfriend day after day while bringing nothing to the table then making her apologize for her heightened emotions is Jax Tylor 101. There was just so much Jax to weed through in those days that we didn’t see it! Anyways, welcome to any born-again Katie-Stans. I see you! Tom Schwartz goons to the left.
It’s no wonder the internet went ablaze with speculation about Tom and Katie’s current living situation following the spilt. Can this guy really live on his own? Some fans noticed blue tape in the background of photos – thinking the two had parsed out the recently-purchased home they claim to both be living in. Another more reasonable theory is that Tom Schwartz’s long time keeper, Tom Sandoval, has taken him in like the perma-Craigslist stray he is.
E! News has confirmed, though, that Tom Schwartz is not currently living at the Sandoval-Madix household. Ariana Madix posted to her Instagram story saying, “Nobody is crashing at our house. Stop saying that.” Well okay then.
For his part, Tom Schwartz is taking the divorce in stride. Of course he is. Did anyone think this guy could commit to a life change in any capacity? Methinks he was just fine to stay and equally lukewarm about having to make it on his own. His statement was that he, “fully respect[s] Katie’s decision.” He added, “We’ve had healthy, productive conversations about it. It would be far sadder if she decided to stay with me whilst not happy.” Hopefully he can commit to a moving company sometime soon.
