When Vanderpump Rules couple Katie Maloney and Tom Schwartz got divorced, they had a custody matter to settle. They are sharing co-parenting duties for their beloved dogs, Gordo and Butter. While the exes initially planned to stay friends, Katie was furious when Schwartz was interested in Rachel Leviss during Season 10. Or, fake interest, as she was already having a secret affair with Schwartz’s best friend, Tom Sandoval. Still, their VPR co-star Lala Kent thinks that the couple could end up being friends again.
But first Katie has to get over the fact that Schwartz lied to everyone, including her. When Rachel revealed that Schwartz had known about the months-long affair from the beginning, Katie was furious. She stated that her ex-husband’s actions “make it so hard” to be friends with him. During the Season 11 Pump Rules premiere, Schwartz asked her to hang out for a moment. Katie looked like it was pure torture to be around him.
Lala praises their unique dynamic
Lala was a guest on Watch What Happens Live, along with comedian and Bravo superfan Michael Rapaport. Host Andy Cohen was polling the viewers. “Will Schwartz and Katie ever be friends again? Yes or No?” he asked. Michael was confident in his answer. “Yes,” he responded.
“You think so?” Andy asked. But Lala had an interesting take on the former couple. “They have a really funky dynamic and I’m here for it,” she said. Andy agreed. “They really do,” he added.
“It is. She like emotionally abuses him, he loves it. It works,” Lala explained. “It’s fascinating. It does,” Andy stated. And, the audience agreed that Katie and Schwartz would once again be friends.
Unfortunately for Schwartz, he is constantly manipulated by his bestie, Sandoval. This man-child needs to grow up and start setting some boundaries, starting with his friend.
