Crystal Kung Minkoff Explains Why Kyle Richards And Kim Richards Didn’t Attend Kathy Hilton’s Birthday Party; Says Kathy “Had Multiple Birthdays”

Season 12 of Real Housewives of Beverly Hills has been creating lots of buzz, and at the center of the drama is Kyle Richard’s sister, Kathy Hilton. Fans grew to love Kathy’s wacky ways, but it looks like this season is far from “hunky dory” for her.

There was so much drama during the RHOBH cast trip in Aspen, Colorado that Kathy asked her husband, Rick Hilton, to rescue her. Kathy wrote in the comments of her husband’s Instagram post, “Please call me I need to get out of here now!!!!!” The post has since been deleted.

It was reported that Kathy had a fight with an employee at a private lounge, and that Lisa Rinna accompanied her back to their accommodations. Rinna wrote in her Instagram Story, “Oh damn are we back to cease and desist? Ooof.” She deleted it, leaving RHOBH fans questioning who sent the letter. Kathy’s rep told Radar Online that Kathy “has not sent a C&D to Rinna.”

There were rumors that Kyle was upset that Kathy received special treatment on RHOBH, even though Kathy is only a Friend of the Housewives. Kyle posted a cryptic quote to her Instagram Story. It read in part, “It’s not the stab in the back that kills you! It’s when you turn around and see who’s holding the knife.” The Instagram account @queensofbravo shared the screenshot.

The Season 12 trailer was wild. Crystal Kung Minkoff, in her sophomore season, went toes with Erika Jayne about the victims. But the trailer also showed Rinna presiding over a sit-down between Kyle and Kathy. “You said some things about this beautiful sister of yours,” Rinna stated. “I’m sorry, Kathy, you’re not going to get away with it.” Kyle sobbed to Kathy, “I feel like you hate me or something. How could you say those things?” What in the world did Kathy say? Kyle and Kathy were in a great place last season after years of estrangement.

Crystal told US Weekly that Kyle missing Kathy’s birthday dinner last month wasn’t a big deal. “I’m going to clarify the birthday. I was invited to the birthday. I couldn’t go,” Crystal explained. “Kyle and [Kim Richards] have a different group that they hang out with, so I think the show makes it feel like that’s [Kathy’s] crew, but, like, she had multiple birthdays. That was just [one] birthday. We all have five birthday lunches,” Crystal added. Five lunches? Count me in!

Kyle previously told US Weekly that she was unable to attend Kathy’s party because she was still filming.

Crystal stated, “I wouldn’t invite my brother to everything of mine. You go to the one thing that makes sense.” She continued,” That group wasn’t necessarily a Kyle group. They have their own crew.” Crystal said that Kyle did go to a separate birthday party for Kathy.

Crystal also addressed the rumors of tension between Kathy and Kyle. “They’re family and they’re sisters, and there’s no way that any family could keep it perfect all the time,” Crystal remarked. “And when you’re on a reality show, you’re going to show the ups and downs of it.”

She said, “Most people get to show the ups. When I fight with my brother, I’m not posting it, right?” Crystal added, “And then when you put yourself in the situation and out there, it’s going to come out, but they love each other.”

Crystal also addressed what fans can expect from Season 12. The Real Coco founder revealed that she has a “stronger story line” this season. “There’s a lot going on. It’s just high drama,” Crystal stated. “I mean, it’s crazy. Like, I was there for everything, and I’m like, ‘Oh, my God. That was very dramatic!’” Crystal added.
