Last week marked the return of the notorious Ashley Jacobs to Southern Charm. Thomas Ravenel’s loose cannon ex was invited by Eliza Limehouse to a gathering at her family’s country home. Ashley managed to anger or offend nearly everyone there. Things got even worse once she actually started to speak to the guests!
However, the two Southern Charmer’s whom Ashley has had the most drama with (besides Thomas) weren’t even at the gathering. Kathryn Dennis was at her brother’s wedding–a lucky break for her! Ashley’s other arch nemesis, grande dame Patricia Altschul, must have declined the invite–or maybe she had a previous luncheon engagement at McDonald’s. Patricia might not have been at the gathering, but she shared her thoughts about Ashley on social media before the episode aired. Needless to say, they weren’t warm and fuzzy accolades.
Shep Rose had some choice words for Ashley Jacobs following her return to Southern Charm.
The Charmer let fans know exactly what he thought of Thomas Ravenel‘s on-again-off-again girlfriend popping back up in Charleston to cause drama with his friends.
After last week’s
snoozefest episode, it was about time Southern Charm offered up some serious drama that didn’t involve Craig Conover getting his feelings hurt. Last night was the highly anticipated return of Ashley Jacobs, who proved, yet again, that she can’t take responsibility for any of her actions. It is exhausting to watch her battle over semantics, but it’s torturously entertaining. Let’s dig right in to last night’s show, shall we?
While the OG Charmers are bonding with their pooches, Recent College Grad is complaining about how hard it is to be overshadowed by the Limehouse name. With three hotels and a $50 million inheritance in her future, Eliza works hard to learn the family business booking reservations and covering shifts at hotels. She is not just a spoiled polo brat like most people assume. Eliza discusses the skeet shoot brunch she and her boyfriend Don will be hosting at her family’s plantation. Her mother nags her about emo manicure and sleep habits…and the fact that Eliza is dating someone fourteen years her senior. She wonders if her daughter is seeking a father-figure in her older beaus. Her mother would rather Eliza marry into another well-bred Southern family instead of traipsing around with some thirty-something from (gasp!) New Jersey.
The romantic history of Southern Charm star Kathryn Dennis reads a bit like a bad romance novel. One that you might not believe if you picked it up at the bookstore. Viewers are all too familiar with Kathryn’s dramatic relationship with her ex Thomas Ravenel, who is old enough to be her father. And her brief dalliances with co-stars Shep Rose and Whitney Sudler-Smith along the way. Plus, an unconfirmed fling with Craig Conover.
This season, Kathryn revealed that she was dating someone new, Joe Abruzzo, a Florida politician. But that relationship flamed out as quickly as it began. Then, earlier this year, Kathryn announced via Instagram that she was dating country singer Hunter Price. And so far, that relationship has endured. Kathryn has not shared a lot of information about their romantic life, but she recently discussed how the two met and also spilled some details on their relationship.
It’s great to have Southern Charm back again, but it’s not the same without a true villain on the show. Sure, there are times when the audience is “against” almost every cast member, but there was nothing like continuously hating on Thomas Ravenel.
Nevertheless, he doesn’t deserve to be on this show. However, his ex-girlfriend Ashley Jacobs returns during tonight’s Southern Charm episode. Ugh. This just reaks of a forced storyline, right?
Southern Charm star, Kathryn Dennis, is really going places these days. She could be getting to these places in her Rolls Royce, because image is everything! Slammed for her spending habits by co-stars, Naomie Olindo has previously commented that the Roller was a “foolish” financial decision. Considering Kathryn’s on-going custody battle with
disgraced former flame, Thomas Ravenel, Naomie was probably right. What, not everyone spends six figures on a car?
This season Kathryn also had a lovely new abode. In the chi chi “South of Broad” neighborhood of Charleston, Kathryn’s pastel rental would wind up costing the single mom a whopping $6,600 per month. That works out to an impressive $79,200 a year. Real estate agent and friend Cameran Eubanks said Kathryn’s new home was the equivalent of flushing money down the toilet. At first, Kathryn was hesitant to view her friends’ concerns over her bank account as helpful. She explained they really have zero concept of how she spends her money on the regular. But in light of her legal issues, which will never go away as long as Thomas is alive, Kathryn has changed her tune. Now, instead of movin’ on up like The Jeffersons, Kathryn is movin’ on out.
Just because Thomas Ravenel
was fired left Southern Charm, doesn’t mean he won’t be in the news almost every day. Thomas and Kathryn Dennis have two children together. They also share a history of substance abuse.
A lot of their couple drama played out on camera. But it’s what has transpired behind the scenes that’s been newsworthy. In 2018, Thomas was accused of sexual battery after meeting someone on a dating app in 2015. But it didn’t end there. During the same year, a nanny employed by Thomas alleged he sexually assaulted her in 2015 as well. This case is currently awaiting trial. Kathryn was subjected to repeated drug tests, which she passed, and regained 50/50 custody of her children.
Last night’s Southern Charm was mega-Craig. It had all the drama, but the subjects shifted a bit. Boys will be boys! We begin as Shep Rose is preparing for the arrival of his new puppy, and Cameran Eubanks arrives at his house to accompany him to pick up his latest distraction…not to be confused with his most recent distraction–the girl who left thigh-high boots sprawled on his den floor. Cameran is concerned about how long Little Craig will last in his new home…probably as long as thigh-high boots girl did.
In Mount Pleasant, Chelsea Meissner and Austen Kroll are attempting to catch some fish while dishing on Shep calling Madison LeCroy white trash. Austen’s ex wishes that he had clocked Shep for the statement, and Chelsea agrees. Women like for guys to defend their honor. On their way to get Little Craig, Cameran details her recent conversation with Madison to Shep. He admits to saying it, but at least he didn’t say it to her face. Sometimes he’s snobby, okay? Shep doesn’t hate Madison, but he doesn’t like hanging out with rednecks. Cameran thinks his words were too strong, but she wouldn’t be friends with him if he didn’t have a good heart.
