Real Housewives of New York is finally back! Tonight, Season 12 begins and we are all so ready for this.
We get to “meet” the new Housewife Leah McSweeney. We also see Elyse Slaine, Ramona Singer’s friend, who didn’t get that full-time cast member slot.
Luann de Lesseps is officially off probation. And to celebrate, she is… not drinking. For now, anyway. We all know that’s not gonna last for too long. She will not be “Lu and improved” forever.
At this point in the season, Tinsley Mortimer is dating someone new, a guy named Bruce. This not something the fans really knew about. It will be interesting to see how Tinsley goes from having a new boyfriend to getting engaged to Scott Kluth.

Dorinda Medley gets the ladies together for an “end of summer” party. And that tension between Dorinda and Tinsley from Season 11 is still a thing.
Ramona confesses to Elyse, “In my mind, I think I’m this youngster and I’m not. I am sixty years old.” Using the word “youngster” isn’t exactly an indication of youth. She admits, “I feel like an emptiness in me. I can’t explain it.” Ramona also says, “I used to always wake up happy. When I wake up in this apartment, I start crying.” Aawww. Are we going to see a much softer side to Ramona this season?

Sonja Morgan struggles having an empty nest since her daughter left for college. Since we’ve never actually seen Sonja’s daughter on the show, this is a story that I struggle to care about, but Sonja’s solo scenes usually give us some solid entertainment.
