We have to give credit where it’s due — Peacock totally nailed it with Real Housewives Ultimate Girls Trip Season 1. I had my reservations with the cast — Cynthia Bailey and Melissa Gorga weren’t screaming “crazy fun show” to me at first. However, I was proven wrong with a series that had me smiling from ear to ear the entire season. Once the streaming service revealed who would make up the cast of Season 2, I knew RHUGT was here to stay.
Bravo is leaning into the RHUGT Ex-Wives Club vibe with Season 2, featuring a cast of former Real Housewives stars from various cities. It’s all going down in Dorinda Medley’s Berkshires mansion, where she’ll be joined by Real Housewives of New York OG Jill Zarin. Real Housewives of Orange County dynamic duo Tamra Judge and Vicki Gunvalson are on the cast, which is a recipe for disaster. From Real Housewives of Atlanta, we have the always juicy peaches Phaedra Parks and Eva Marcille in the mix. Finally, Real Housewives of Beverly Hills alums Brandi Glanville and Taylor Armstrong will round out the group.
At long last, Peacock has released the first trailer for Ex-Wives Club that is the thing Bravo dreams are made of (via E! News). The trailer is just a taste of all the Bezerkshires debauchery, featuring ridiculous costumes and way too much drinking. “Brown liquor makes people act like this. I don’t like it,” Phaedra says at one point. Well, when Tammy Sue’s in the room, someone has got to get naked wasted.
It’s not all fun and games for the ladies, though. Dorinda doesn’t do well with people who don’t make it nice, namely Vicki Gunvalson. The OG of the OC doesn’t like being told what to do, which puts her at odds with the lady of Bluestone Manor. “Birds of a feather flock together. I am not flocking with that bird,” Anti-Vax Vicki said of her new enemy.
Dorinda isn’t Vicki’s only adversary, as she seems to be the common denominator for problems at the manor. “We are destroying this town,” her sidekick Tamra says. Would we expect anything less? Vicki is seen in the trailer asking exactly what people even do for fun in the Berkshires, so she decided creating a mess was the best way to pass the time. “The only conflict is you,” Eva says point-blank to Vicki. We know she doesn’t do well with accountability either, so this should end well *not*.
Vicki gets herself in trouble outside of just feuding with her temporary roomies. Tamra literally gives her friend the Heimlich maneuver in one brief scene, saving her from choking. “I can’t go to another hospital with you,” she said. You could say that again — Vicki’s at hospitals almost as much as she’s at Andale’s.
Don’t worry, Brandi swoops in to help stir the pot with Vicki. Taylor is seen at one seen demanding for Brandi to not be a liar. Brandi and Tamra tell one another to “shut the f–k up,” which is something we probably all could have anticipated. Phaedra is the voice of reason, consoling Brandi in between her fights with her co-stars. The RHOA girls seem to like Brandi, as Eva isn’t afraid to ask Brandi, “What the f–k is a mangina?” I love how effortlessly hilarious the Housewives are.
We see Dorinda teaching a Dorobics class, which leads to Tamra screaming her head off in a ridiculous 80s workout outfit. Phaedra and the ladies take a hot air balloon ride, where Miss Southern Belle says “bye-bye peasants.” There are inflatable penises, naked parties, and a lot of clumsy ladies having too much fun. Oh, and a lot of things that would have been better left unsaid. For example, Phaedra asks Brandi why she thinks someone is a lesbian. Brandi, without missing a beat, says “her eyebrows,” which cracks up PhaePhae. I cannot wait until June 23 for Peacock to debut this gem of a show, but thankfully we finally got our first look at the madness.
