Only a few minutes into the first episode of Vanderpump Rules Season 6, the fandom was hit with a major scandal: Jax Taylor allegedly cheated on Brittany Cartwright, the saint of SUR, with Faith Stowers, a glorified extra who used to hook up with Max Todd. Now, we know that he actually did do that and the polite use of “allegedly” was far too generous.
OG cast members Kristen Doute and Katie Maloney have a lot to say about Jax’s infidelity, Faith’s thirst to stay on the show, and just for good measure, they talked about Scheana Marie and her post-divorce love life.
Kristen and Katie did not hold back during their interview for the Pump Rules Podcast. Katie had no issue calling out the only plausible motive for Faith sleeping with Jax: “She probably only did that to guarantee a place on the show.” She even said, “If we’re going to talk about the friend group here, it’s like second cousin removed.” That was one hundred percent on point.
Kristen theorized, “Faith was like ‘If I can f-ck my way into this group, then maybe I can be a cast member.'” It worked for James Kennedy, but I doubt Faith will ever get full-time status. Most likely she will just get some unflattering screen time and a shit ton of social media hate. There are no Instagram ads for detox tea or tinted sunglasses in her future.
For a while, Kristen was optimistic about Jax’s relationship with Brittany. She shared, “I’ve known Jax for ten years. He was my first friend in LA.” She continued, “It was like he could do three weeks and it was done and if it lasted longer, there was a little bit of hope. Then with Brittany, I’m like ‘I don’t see the tell tale signs.'” I guess Kristen didn’t hear about those fake eyelashes that Brittany found on their kitchen counter.
As naive as it sounds, a lot of people were really rooting for Jax and Brittany to make it work (or at least I was). It was clearly just wishful thinking to hope for a new Jax, but cheating on Brittany really was a disappointment to us all. Katie admitted, “We’re like dude, you f-cking bummed all of us out. We were rooting for Brittany, but we were also like maybe two percent rooting for you that you were maybe, finally shaping up a little bit.” Yeah, not so much.
Katie said, “Honestly, this is not in the defense of Jax, we cannot blame the dudes anymore. This is a point where the women need to wake up. Take cues anywhere that you can find them. Take the cues, please.” Kristen said, “She makes women look f-cking stupid.” Damn. That is harsh and untrue. Kristen did make a very valid point a few seconds later: “If you want marriage, you want kids, and that’s all you’ve ever wanted, then why be with Jax?” That’s a good question.
Kristen thinks, “He’s bullying her into breaking up with him. He’s too big of a p-ssy. If Brittany breaks up with him, he gets to use it as an excuse.” She later said, “He doesn’t want to be with her. That’s my opinion. Watching this f-cking episode: you cheat on her, you don’t want to be with her – especially if you cheat and lie.”
At another point in the podcast, Kristen and Katie discussed Scheana dragging her ex Mike Shay on the show. Kristen declared, “It’s f-cking rude. You guys have been through enough.” She also said, “They’re divorced, you have a new boyfriend, so move the f-ck on. Why are you still dragging his name?” Katie added, “If you’re happy, then you’re just f-cking happy,” but that’s not Scheana’s style. This is the same person who has an “It’s All Happening” tattoo on her arm. She is anything but subtle.
Kristen said, “She has nothing else to f-cking talk about.” She also told Katie, “The only thing Scheana has to talk about is how you suck, Rob [Valletta] is the best thing ever, and Shay sucks. Scheana does not have a hobby and she has no friends.” Katie said, “She is and will always be the victim, no matter f-cking what.” Pretty much.
