Marlo Hampton

It has been the Battle of the Bravo blogs for the ladies of the Real Housewives of Atlanta. NeNe Leakes comes to the defense of her new bestie, Marlo Hampton, while getting a couple digs to former biffle/mortal enemy Kim Zolciak. Of course, because she does everything that her Neenster idol does, Cynthia Bailey also professed her affinity for Marlo in her blog, while making a few comments about Kim, as well. Oh, and she also is adamant that she doesn’t do everything that her idol Neenster does. Sure…

NeNe blogs, “All the talk about Marlo’s fashion… LOL! I swear, these girls are not smart!” Oh Neens, I can hear your raspy voice laughing as I read those words.

NeNe goes on to remind viewers that at the Bar One opening, in the beginning of Season Three, the Smalls were fans of Ms. Hampton, as long as Marlo wasn’t a fan of NeNe’s. She recalls, “From what I understand and can see with these two good ole eyes of mine, they liked Marlo and were cool with her as long as she wasn’t cool with me! They were doing what haters do, being envious, conspiring, and trying to figure out a way to bring you down! They wanted so badly to have me and Marlo fight over a man I was NEVER involved with sexually! They were down with her!”

NeNe addresses Marlo’s, less than stellar (and might I add criminal), past and states that it has no bearing on the pair’s friendship. She explains, “Yes, I’ve heard about Marlo’s past, and everybody has one. Some worse than others, but she treats me nicely, so I see no need to not do the same for her!”

Having doled out enough compliments for a months worth of blogs (for NeNe, at least), she returns to what she does best–call out Kim, responding to rumors that a certain someone was MIA from the Africa trip because she couldn’t be in such close proximity with NeNe. NeNe continues, “As far as Kim not coming to Africa because of tension between me and her, it’s all lies. I’ve been in the same room as Kim a few times, and I give her nothing! I haven’t spoken to Kim in two years and have no plans to.” In all fairness, I have to point out that perhaps Kim’s newborn coupled with her husband’s absence was probably higher than NeNe on the list of reasons which caused her to decline the vacay.

NeNe touches on the women’s experience with the medicine man, and agrees–slightly– he was correct in saying her current (but estranged) husband, Gregg, is a good man. She cryptically reveals, “Gregg is a good person, which is why I married him, but a good man doesn’t always equal a good husband. I know what I’ve been through!” Wow. Sometimes what you don’t say speaks volumes!

Back in Atlanta, NeNe insists she is diving right back into the thick of things and living above the drama. She states, “I’m working on opening The L Lounge and getting various products on the market.”

Ending her blog on a high note, she proclaims, “I’m a lot of things at times, but one thing is for sure, I’ve always been the type of woman that stands alone, stands up for what I believe in, and doesn’t need validation from anyone!” I feel like I’m Every Woman should be playing!

On Cynthia’s Bravo blog, she writes the exact same things Nene did about her thoughts on Marlo, in light of the comments she made to the Smalls. Cynthia claims to like Marlo, but her blog entry is the slightest bit passive aggressive. Is someone sad that NeNe’s time is being monopolized by the newest Tall?

Cynthia begins, “I like Marlo. We are very cool, but we are not close. The most time we have spent together was in South Africa. Any time spent we spent together has been through NeNe. The two of them have become great friends and really connected. I am cool with all the girls (most of the time), but NeNe is the only one I talk to on a regular basis. I really don’t have a problem with Marlo, and like I said, personality wise, we are different.”

Marlo loves fashion, and it seems to be a big part of who she is,” Cynthia continues. “I love fashion as well, but outside of my fashion school, fashion is not big priority in my personal life. I really don’t have an interest in talking about clothes, shoes, and bags all day long with Marlo or Karl Lagerfeld himself for that matter.”

Cynthia goes on to defend her statement about Marlo, saying, “I have no problem repeating any of the comments that I made regarding Marlo to NeNe (or Marlo) while on safari with the Smalls. I honestly didn’t think my comments about Marlo were a big deal. So what, I said that we have two different personalities and I don’t care to talk about fashion all day. That’s how I feel. What’s wrong with that?” Nothing…except you would never say that in front of the Queen Ne.

As if she read my mind, Cynthia writes, “NeNe knows exactly how I feel about Marlo, so what else did I need to say. These ladies have had plenty to say about Marlo, so my two cents seemed “small” in comparison.” Clever! See what she did there?

Her take on Marlo’s past is the same as NeNe’s. Cynthia says, “I have never questioned where Marlo gets her money, her criminal past, or this 80-year-old sugar daddy the Smalls seem to be so interested in talking about. I don’t care how any of the girls get the money to support their lavish lives, because it is none of my business.” Continuing, she compliments her new co-star, “Without question, Marlo rocks the hottest and latest fashions in this group! No one can touch her. While we may have a piece here and there, she is the walking (and talking) Gucci ad! I think she even gets a lot of her looks straight off the runway. Fabulous!”

Of course, Cynthia couldn’t let the compliment end there, adding, “If you see me with an expensive designer look straight off the runway, please believe it came straight from a NY showroom and I’m wearing it for free. I have a family and a business to support. I can’t afford it, and make it a point NOT to act like I can.” Mee. Yow.

Summing up her blog she gives her two cents on Kim. Cynthia admits, “I said I couldn’t PICTURE Kim in Africa at the orphanage holding African kids. I also said, ‘I’m not saying she WOULDN’T do it, I just can’t see it.’ That’s just my opinion, like it was her opinion that my marriage wouldn’t last a year. Kim and I are not exactly best buds, we don’t owe each other anything.” However, she is quick to add, I don’t think Kim is a racist.”

Finally, NeNe’s youngest son Brentt celebrated his thirteenth birthday last week with both Nene and Gregg in attendance. While Cynthia was nowhere to be found, Marlo was on hand to gift Brentt a pair of Gucci sneakers! Can Marlo come to my next birthday bash? Check out pictures from the party below!

Also there is no new episode of RHOA tonight, instead Bravo will air a special about Kim and her husband Kroy. I can sense your high level of excitement!

I will never forgive Kim Zolciak from depriving us of her presence during the Real Housewives of Atlanta‘s trip to Africa, where they pledged to be nice after visiting an orphanage, and then followed that up with endless arguments about nothing.

It would have been truly hilarious to see Kim in that environment, away from her suburban bubble of Bentleys, fat-sucking lasers, and chain restaurants. But, alas, Kim passed on the trip, and a few people have accused the sole white lady on the cast of being racist and not wanting to go to Africa.

On her recent Bravo blog, former musical partner Kandi Burruss does not back down, making it clear she still believes Kim would NOT have wanted to visit the orphanage:

“First off, I do not think Kim would have gone to Africa, even if she hadn’t just had the baby, and I don’t see her spending time at an orphanage, especially not the one we went to in Africa. As for me saying I don’t see her at the orphanage, no I don’t. She may disagree, but that’s my opinion. I just don’t see her being the type to be there. Not that Kim wouldn’t help. I think she would help with giving donations to get them what they need, but I don’t see her doing physical help.”

Kandi also thinks it was simply a matter of Kim wanting to avoid being around Nene Leakes. That’s certainly understandable since the women’s feud has gotten rather ugly on several occasions.

“Kim has been avoiding NeNe for over a year. It would have taken a million dollars to get her to come on a trip where she was stuck for a whole week in close proximity to NeNe. On top of that she hates long flights.”

The supremely lazy Kim might be type to send a check and return to the hotel for a much-needed spa day, but she begs to differ in her Bravo blog, and says she doesn’t mind dirt, or holding children of any race:

Cynthia and Kandi seemed to think I wouldn’t attend the Africa trip because NeNe would stop me and I wouldn’t want to hold African children. Although Cynthia made the initial comment, Kandi co-signed, so she’s just as guilty in my eyes. You are supposed to be my friend, why are you agreeing with a hater? If Kandi believes I wouldn’t go to an African orphanage, then she doesn’t truly know me. I love children and always have. I love to take care of people, which is why I went to nursing school.

Kandi says I am germaphobic, and yes, I like my house clean, and no, I didn’t want people around KJ his first few months, etc. But let’s be honest, as a nurse I have wiped many asses in my time, suctioned people, and held a basin when they were vomiting, so forgive me for being educated on all the germs that are out there, but there is nothing that a little hand washing can’t fix. “Germs” have never prevented me from holding a sick child, an adult’s hand, or walking into a less that sanitary place. End of story.”

Fans may recall the time that Kim said she would “shovel shit” for her daughters if she ever lost her ATM, otherwise known as Big Poppa, so she may be on to something. Kim also addresses Nene’s comments that she is too superficial to take on such a charitable task:

“NeNe mentioned that I am materialistic and superficial, which I found funny coming from someone who says she is “very rich.” I love my Louis Vuitton, I love my YSL, and I will STILL die in Dior, but never have I boasted and made displays of my items in hotel rooms. I am very blessed and grateful to have what I have. I never take my things for granted, or the things I’ve been granted will get taken away.”

We have to give a point to the Zolciak for this. None of the Atlanta cast members have ever been able to go very long without mentioning clothing labels or money, with perhaps the exception of Kandi, who has always been a bit more grounded. But none of these ladies have ever shown up ANYWHERE in just a pair of worn Old Navy yoga pants and a Target tank top – know what I mean? Speaking of label-whores, Kandi also mentions Marlo in her blog post, and her discomfort at her constant braying of her expensive wardrobe (earned with a paycheck that came straight from the heavens if we are to believe her):

“I think for the most part Marlo is a nice person, and yes, I think she’s fashionable, but I just don’t like being around people who constantly boast and brag about what they have. At a certain point people will only notice you for what they can see on the surface, if that’s all you seem to offer. I think Marlo has an incredible closet full of beautiful clothes and shoes, but the constant talk about them I can do without.”

Back to the topic of the Wigged One, Kim, the final question is, is she in fact racist? Kim says she isn’t and that if she was, she would not be on this show:

In my eyes children in need are children in need. I have said this before, and I will say it till I die, I DON’T SEE COLOR, not with women, men, children, or adults. What they said was ignorant and rude. I do not need to explain that I am not a racist, because the people who know me know my heart.

I embrace all races, and if I didn’t, I wouldn’t be a cast member of The Real Housewives of Atlanta. Need I say more?

My feelings are that Kim is completely checked out of this show, and didn’t see any personal benefit to going on the Africa trip. She’s consistently missed group events throughout the seasons, and the one housewife vacation she went on last season was to visit one of her boyfriends. With Kim, sticking to the surface answer is probably the closest to the truth.

TELL US: WHY DO YOU THINK KIM SKIPPED OUT ON THE TRIP TO AFRICA? DO YOU THINK SHE IS TOO SELFISH TO HAVE GONE TO THE ORPHANAGE? WHAT DO YOU THINK OF THE OTHER CAST MATE’S COMMENTS ABOUT HER?

The Bravo network has now released a new preview clip for Kandi Burruss’ spin-off show, The Kandi Factory!

Kandi, star of the Real Housewives of Atlanta, who is now notorious for helping turn tone-deaf Kim Zolciak into a iTunes music super star will attempt to do the same with two music hopefuls by giving them their chance at music stardom.

In this special, Kandi will give two protégés, with no music industry experience, the opportunity to come to Atlanta. She will write an original song for each based on their personal stories. The amateurs will then have the chance to work with her team of experts–composed of a producer, choreographer and stylist–to master the key elements that make a pop star.

It, however, appears Kandi’s show will be a one time special, for the time being, and not a weekly series. No word on why Bravo decided to use this format. Perhaps, it was always intended to be a special than a weekly series.

The Kandi Factory will air March 4 on Bravo at 10/9c in the form of a 90-minute special. A video sneak peek is below!

Moving on to some RHOA drama, Kandi does not bite her tongue when it comes to her costar Marlo Hampton. In her latest Bravo blog, Kandi tells the truth refers to Marlo, who took over 25 pairs of Christian Louboutin shoes to Africa for a 10-day vacation, as being both “shallow and materialistic.”

“I think for the most part Marlo is a nice person, and yes, I think she’s fashionable, but I just don’t like being around people who constantly boast and brag about what they have. It comes off as shallow and materialistic,” blogs Kandi. “I hate when NeNe says that I’m mad just because I let it be known that I don’t like Marlo’s bragging. Now when I remind NeNe that she has made similar statements about Kim, she says it’s because Kim is materialistic and superficial but Marlo doesn’t seem that way. Huh?! ”

Kandi continues, “Well anyway, I think Marlo has an incredible closet full of beautiful clothes and shoes, but the constant talk about them I can do without.” Amen sister!

Kandi also touched on Cynthia Bailey’s two-facedness! On the last episode of the show, Cynthia continued to prove she is nothing more than Nene Leakes’ lapdog as she appeared scared to share her true feelings and opinions about Marlo when her leader, Nene, was around.

Kandi writes: “Now Cynthia on the other hand does hang out with Marlo from time to time, because of NeNe I suppose. It threw me for a loop when she was so open on the safari about her thoughts of Marlo when it was just us Smalls listening, but she TOTALLY changed her tune when NeNe met up with us. If she has ever wondered why people have said she follows NeNe and doesn’t have her own mind, then maybe she gets it now. I didn’t get it. Why wasn’t she as honest with NeNe about her opinion as she was with us? That was crazy.”

Crazy indeed for an adult woman to be scared of another adult woman! Especially, one who’s suppose to be her friend.

On last night’s episode of Real Housewives of Atlanta, the ladies promised and swore to turn over a new leaf after their moving experience in the South African orphanage, but alas their epiphany was brief and insincere.

After seeing the heartbreaking poverty of the children of the orphanage, the ladies sit down to dinner at their five-star resort to reflect on how privileged their lives are. They have “beautiful homes, beautiful fashions, a lotta labels,” Phaedra points out. Phaedra’s speech about appreciation was tailor made for Marlo, I see. Bespoke, if you will. Too bad Marlo was focusing on something being wrong with her plate instead of contemplating the day. Everyone promises to put future petty squabbles into perspective and approach situations in a more adult manner. Kandi is the first to speak up with a a ‘yeah right!’

There was a lot going on this weekend with the Real Housewives of Atlanta…especially in the Twitterverse! Kim Zolciak and former assistant Sweetie Hughes are speaking out about a write-up insinuating that Sweetie thinks Kim’s new husband Kroy Biermann is a racist.

After an interview Sweetie gave to blogger ATLien about her termination as Kim’s lackey right-hand-woman created some hullabaloo about Kroy’s potential prejudices, the ladies started tweeting up a storm to discredit the story.

As you recall, ATLien wrote, “I’ve heard rumors that Kim’s new husband, Falcons player Kroy Biermann doesn’t ‘prefer’ African-Americans chilling around the house, and since Sweetie is clearly one of those, it’s been inferred that he may be the cause of her sudden job loss.”

Not one to take this gossip lightly, Kim took to the mean streets of her Twitterhood to set the record straight. On Friday, she tweeted, “Under no circumstances did @sweetieHughes imply @biermann71 was racist nor discriminates against african americans when u do an inter be legit! Its disgusting!”

Sweetie was quick to respond to her twitter pal and former boss, saying, “@Kimzolciak ignore the BS and Have a wonderfull day sweetie:)” which was later followed with, “Omg America get a life!!!!!”

It appears the world may never know the back story behind Kim and Sweetie’s parting of ways. Of course, we can always read between the tweets…and pray the situation is highlighted on the upcoming Don’t Be Tardy for the Wedding!

In other RHOA news, Phaedra Parks spoke with Naughty But Nice Rob with the Huffingtonpost, defending former client Bobby Brown. Bobby has been receiving backlash in the media regarding the tragic death of his ex-wife, singer Whitney Houston. While many have blamed Bobby for enabling his wife’s addictions while others have criticized his support of the pair’s 18-year-old daughter Bobbi Christina.

Phaedra, who has often talked on the show about representing Bobby as his attorney, tells the site, “What we have to remember is that they both were adults and as adults we make choices. They are adults. Whitney took responsibility for what happened with her life. She was wonderful, an icon. I’m happy to have worked with both of them.”

When asked about Bobby’s delay in rushing to his distraught daughter’s side in L.A., Phaedra again dismisses the public’s criticism. She states, “In defense of Bobby, when this happened, he was on stage.”

Phaedra continues, explaining, “He doesn’t have a private jet. He got there as soon as he could. He is a wonderful father. I know he will be there for all his children. I’m worried for any child that looses a parent at a young age — that point in your life is when you need your mother. At 18 years old, you are beginning your transformation to be a women.”

Our thoughts continue to be with Whitney’s family and friends.

And finally, going back to where we started (Twitter is always full-circle!), Kandi Burruss and 9-year-old daughter Riley will be moving from their old home in Fayetteville, Georgia and a new McMansion pictured below!

Kandi tweeted the below picture with the news, “Just got a new house!!!!!! So much work to be done….”

Wow! That is quite an upgrade, but well-deserved in light of Kandi’s success both on the show and with her other ventures. Her late-night radio show, Kandi Koated Knights, continues to gain popularity, while her line of adult toys is about to launch. Combine all of this with her upcoming Bravo spin-off Kandi Factory, and I’d say Kandi is earning quite enough to make that jump. Congratulations!

Don’t forget about tonight’s episode, airing at 9PM ET. “No Bones About It” continues with the women’s tour of South Africa. Everyone dines in luxury, discussing their time at the orphanage and how silly their petty fights seem in light of what they’ve seen. Phaedra cites the women’s bounty of good things, with Nene agreeing that they are all certainly blessed. Marlo just needs the waiter because the her lunch is undercooked. Phaedra takes it upon herself to impart culture on her travel companions, and the ladies head to a museum. They learn that in certain villages, if a man gets his father or brother to go fetch a lady who has caught his eye, she must become his bride. Kandi isn’t keen on that proposal.

They also meet a help artist herbalist who lets them smell the ancestors (they smell a bit like “pee” according to the ever honest Neenster), and he throws some bones to tell the women’s fortunes. For a mortician, Phaedra isn’t on board with the bone throwing. Sheree is not digging on his prediction that she will never marry again because she’s too old. However, the medicine man is adamant. He also informs Nene that while Greg is a very good man, if she isn’t happy, she shouldn’t stay. Later, Marlo gets sick.

Last night on the Real Housewives of Atlanta, it was a totally Kim-free episode as the other ladies toured the bush of South Africa. They laughed, they danced, they sang, they did charity work – I know, shockingly that all actually happened! They also made snide comments and embarrassed themselves, but hey it’s better than a screaming match!

Things began at the tale end of the epic showdown between two ladies desperate to prove each one is the lesser gold digging, wannabe living off a sugar daddy’s dime. It is much to everyone’s surprise, including Kandi‘s that NeNe intervenes and basically pries these two crazy ladies apart. As NeNe herds Marlo up the stairs, still clutching her omnipresent mimosa, she scolds Sheree on remaining calm and letting it go.

Afterwards everyone shakes it off and proceeds on to their respective dinner engagements. Well, almost everyone NeNe and Cynthia looked like they both wanted to catch the first bus out of there! Sheree arrives at her friend Kevin’s dinner party where he is excited to see the ladies and has planned a lot of exceptional entertainment for the evening. I can see why it would be impractical for Sheree to invite three more people last minute but she should have approached it a different way. Seriously, couldn’t a Bravo producer make copies of Marlo‘s etiquette book and pass it around to the entire traveling group? At Kevin’s the ladies are treated to some amazing fire dancing, flirting with danger indeed. That is pretty much the theme of this entire trip!

Oh Atlanta… I am thankful to you for many reasons. You’ve got peaches. You’ve got the Falcons (Rise up! I know nothing about NFL teams except for their tag lines), you’ve got the best shopping for those of us in the South who live off I-85 (thank you Phipps Plaza!) who think fine apparel comes from Target (a lot of it does. IT DOES). And you’ve got the Real Housewives of Atlanta. Bless you fair Georgian city. Let’s get right to the newest RHOA gossip, shall we?

Just because she’s starring on Bravo’s sure to be latest hit Don’t Be Tardy for the Wedding with her new husband Kroy Biermann doesn’t mean that Kim Zolciak has forgotten her RHOA roots. After being the palest wig wearer for four seasons, many speculated she would be taking the Bethenny Frankel route and not returning to the show that made her a star household name.

Fear not, dear readers. Kim’s twitterverse (of course, where else?) has been abuzz with rumors that the fair Kim (no pun intended…okay, pun totally intended which is why I italicized) would not be returning to Bravo’s Atlanta franchise for season 5. On Friday, Kim pacified many a worried viewer, tweeting, “I’ll be back don’t believe rumors!!”

In fact, when many Kim followers started to voice their concern that the voluminous wig wearer was placating her masses, her twitters tweeters tweet peeps fans were relieved when Kim reiterated, “I’ll be back!!! Xxx”

Even though there is no official word from Bravo as to the season five cast, I, for one, can rest assured that if Kim’s wig doesn’t grace my screen next season, I can hopefully watch a twitter inspired video network of her future life. #trademarkedandregisteredsaidtwittervideofeedsobackoffpeoplewhowanttobeonsharktank :)

In other, and equally important RHOA news, Phaedra Parks is speaking out on eurweb.com about her place on the show and her new career as a funeral director.

As we all know, Phaedra isn’t just a reality star, she’s a savvy business woman and attorney. And due to that, she’s hoping that the show serves as an advertisement for her new other worldly business ventures. It appears that she was picked up for the show just in time to realize her true dream.

Phaedra tells the site, “It wasn’t that I had so much of a desire to be on the Real Housewives of Atlanta. It came at a great time. I was on bed rest. I was pregnant and it was a good opportunity for me to really expand my brand because I had produced TV shows.”

She continues, “I am an entertainment attorney, but I had never been in front of the screen so I understood all the workings of reality except for being a true cast mate. So it gave me an opportunity to say ‘Hey, I have diversified and I can do every part of TV now.’ I know the legal side. I know the technical side and I know the artist side of it.’”

While it’s easy for viewers to see that being a part of the show was a big jump start for Phaedra, she is quick to admit that viewers are the the ones who make the call as to who is popular, who is hated, who needs to stay, and who needs to go. Regardless, Phaedra is very happy with the part she’s played in the franchise and shares what she believes to be the most important aspect of her time with Bravo.

Phaedra asserts, “I think as black people, we have to stop saying this show represents our whole race. We have to vote with our viewership and say ‘On the show we want to see professionals. We want to see mothers. We want to see whatever it is that you actually want to see…[u]nfortunately, as viewers we have sort of bought into the stereotypes that the mass media has shown us for years and we glorify it. One of our biggest characters on there is probably very stereotypical of what we want to admonish as a people, but people love to say ‘Oh we love to see her cut up because that’s what we’re tuning in to see.’”

Amen, Phaedra. I have always thought she brought the comic relief (pickle photo shoots and baby poop, anyone?), but I love to hear her intelligent side give the general opinion of the show. She is, of course, totally correct… people want drama. Sadly, we wouldn’t be tuning in in droves to see the women succeeding in their professional lives. We just like to see Nene Leakes and Kim go at it. #SadForUs

“It’s unfortunate, but I think we have been programmed to want to see drama,” Phaedra continues. “We want to see discord. And when you see people getting along, instead of us actually praising ‘Oh wow, they’re getting along. There’s teamwork. There’s camaraderie. There’s things that’s positive about us as black women,’ people will say ‘Oh, that’s boring. That’s so boring. We don’t want to see that.’ I think we sort of went in a direction where we subscribe to drama and we appreciate that more than sensible behavior.”

In the interview, Phaedra veers away from the show and discusses her dream to own and operate a funeral home. I have to say that for once I don’t think this is a story line Bravo was smart enough to think up on its own, let alone encourage. No offense Andy Cohen, but I do think this has been the long time brainchild of Phaedra herself.

The star speaks candidly about her passion for owning her own mortuary. Phaedra states, “I developed a big desire to be in the funeral home business about five or six years ago. I had a lot of friends that passed away and I was the person that would plan their homegoing services, so that’s how the interest started.” She reveals, “The funeral home I’m going open will be fabulous and the services will be a celebration of life. It will be a family business. My husband, my mother, and my brother will be involved. It’s going to be a great legacy we can leave for our son.”

Bless you, Phaedra. I wish you had been around when I had to plan the funerals of family members. No, I am not Phaedra’s biggest fan, but I do have to applaud what seems like a sincere effort to follow her passion. Bottom line, I do think that if this was the last season we saw of RHOA, ten years from now Phaedra would be embalming our loved ones. And that’s solid on her part.

Finally, turning away from the macabre, I have new cast members to report on…or not report on, as the case may be. Thankfully the Atlanta Journal Constitution is relaying that CNN magnate Ted Turner (the same man who is not, I repeat happily is NOT, Marlo Hampton’s rich older sugar daddy)’s daughter Laura Turner Seydel has been approached by Bravo to join the fifth season.

While she made an appearance on a recent episode to tout her charity, Laura is however way too busy not being uber-dramatic actually doing volunteer work to have her world filmed for the Bravo series.

The site reports that while she did enjoy her minutes in the limelight, she will be turning down Bravo’s offer. Her spokesperson Denise Elsbree claims, “[Laura] really enjoyed that. It was fun. She was able to promote Captain Planet. She works hard to get the message out about the group’s different initiatives.”

After graciously declining Bravo’s invitation, her spokesperson (how many times do I get to quote the actual spokesperson – not a ‘source’ or an ‘insider’ when referring to Bravo-lebrities? Answer: never) states, “[Laura] has a really complicated schedule. She’s on all sorts of boards of foundations and travels all the time. She’s flattered to be considered but there’s no way she could do it.” More respect for you, Mrs. Seydel, more respect.

If you have digested all of this wonderful RHOA info, then clearly you are ready for a preview of tonight’s episode which airs on Bravo at 9PM ET. It’s the third installment of the “ladies’” trip to South Africa and the drama is still high between Marlo and Sheree. When Nene is the voice of reason in screaming match, you know it’s bad! The smalls head to Sheree’s friend’s for dinner while the talls head to Nobu. There is a good deal of fire juggling and Sassafras. The smalls try to set up Kandi with a struggling actor and model, but she didn’t come all the way to Africa to find someone who is fakes it till they make it. With the talls, Cynthia is disappointed that she is with the group that doesn’t want to soak up any culture. Nene eats her sushi with a fork. Can’t wait! A preview clip is below.

ARE YOU EXCITED THAT KIM WILL BE BACK FOR SEASON 5? THOUGHTS ON PHAEDRA’S INTERVIEW? ARE YOU SURPRISED THAT LAURA TURNER SEYDEL WAS APPROACHED FOR THE SHOW?

If you’re anything like me, Real Housewives of Atlanta is a Sunday staple… although not tonight. Apparently, there is some football game on which has sidelined most of my programs (gracious, I sound like my grandmother talking about her soap “stories”).

The news of the moment with the Southern brethren of Bravo’s train wreck franchise is the recent screaming match between Sheree Whitfield and Marlo Hampton while the ladies were supposed to be enjoying an amazing vacation.

As you recall, Marlo didn’t take too kindly to not being invited to a dinner organized by Sheree in the southern hemisphere… even though the two ladies are as far from being actual friends as myself and Kim Kardashian. Although, I have heard through the grapevine that Kimmie is upset with me for not inviting her to my Super Bowl party, which will consist of me watching the Puppy Bowl with my dog while gorging on dip. #nflwhat?

Sheree took to her twitter on January 29 to explain–in small character amounts, of course–her take on the South African blow-up with co-star (?) Marlo. Sheree, like many of us, is confused as to why Marlo would want to tag along to the dinner Sheree and a friend planned in South Africa. As the two barely speak, it is weird that Marlo would get so heated to find out she wouldn’t be joining people she despises at an across-the-globe soiree. A snapshot of Sheree’s tweets is below:

Sheree also stated, perhaps rightfully so, that Marlo’s overreaction was an attempt to secure a spot on the show! Sheree tweeted: “I know, I hate I even went there! Thats what I was speaking of when I said ‘I see what ur doing’ Trying 2 secure a spot on the show.”

And speaking of Marlo, lots of information has been circulating as to just who exactly her rich, older “Sugar Daddy” is. Please say it isn’t so, Mr. Turner!

The website wetpaint.com is reporting that the gossip regarding CNN magnate Ted Turner bank-rolling the very scary Marlo (kidding, love you, ‘Lo!) is just that… gossip. I knew he didn’t seem like that kind of dude. He’s too busy making sure we see the news, as well as classic movies. Thanks for that, Ted.

It’s not strange that people up on Atlanta dirt would speculate about Marlo’s alleged “Big Poppa” after Sheree yelled about her nemesis’s 80-year-old, white sugar daddy during the pair’s infamous vacay showdown. However, what is odd is that Marlo didn’t bat an eyelash at Sheree’s accusation. There was definitely no denial coming from Ms. Hampton.

Since that fateful episode, many media outlets have suggested–or downright claimed–that billionaire Ted Turner was the cash behind Marlo’s lavish lifestyle. However, an insider tells the site: “Absolutely NOT! She wishes he were.” So sorry for wondering Ted! The Ted rumors were also fueled by a recent RHOA episode, in which Marlo attended an event put together by Ted’s daughter and reported current girlfriend.

The same source is adamant that this rumor is another one of Marlo’s ploys, saying: “[This is] just her trying to divert the talk from her criminal past AND the fact she was caught using the word f***ot!”

So, with the media mogul officially out of the running as Marlo’s secret older gentleman – who is paying for all of her designer duds? She can’t be returning it all! Another report came out this week alleging that Marlo’s lavish lifestyle was being funded by the money she got from a currently imprisoned ex who happened to be a big time drug dealer.

SHOULD SHEREE HAVE INVITED MARLO TO HER DINNER PARTY IN SOUTH AFRICA? WHO DO YOU THINK IS MARLO’S SUGAR DADDY? ARE YOU TOTALLY CONVINCED IT ISN’T TED TURNER?
