Kandi Burruss

It has been an exciting week for Kandi Burruss. On Sunday, Kandi celebrated her 39th birthday and the premiere of Kandi’s Ski Trip. It seems like half of Atlanta came out to support Kandi, including Claudia Jordan, Kenya Moore, Demetria McKinney, Cynthia Bailey, AND Phaedra Parks. About Phaedra’s unexpected appearance, Kandi quipped, “Jesus fixed it!”

Also this week, Kandi took a minute (which is more than the topic deserved) to respond to the backlash over her decision to not console NeNe Leakes at the Real Housewives of Atlanta reunion. “Overall, Nene and I had been arguing that whole day and I am not the person that she would have wanted to console her,” Kandi told Page Six. “And secondly, if the shoe was on the other foot, she would not have come to console me.” I could not agree more.

I am not quite sure how to take this season’s Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta. While the men are as messy as ever (I’m still looking at you, Kirk!), the women’s behavior is all over the charts. Is Mimi a hustler or most questionable of the group? Do the “artists” some of the folks are trying to “manage” understand the concept of professionalism? What is the world coming to when Stevie J. is the most normal person on the show? I don’t have many more evens to can’t.

Last night’s episode begins with the much touted meeting between Nikko’s wife Margeaux and Joseline Hernandez. Joseline is hoping that her enemy’s enemy could potentially be her best friend. Margeaux admits that it’s hard to be in Atlanta where she has no ties, and Nikko’s sex tape with Mimi Faust has thrown her for a loop. While she and Nikko weren’t together when he made the tape with Mimi Faust, Margeaux didn’t like being married to a man who the world thinks leaked the shower rod video. Margeaux lets it slip that it was Mimi’s plan to devise the story surrounding how Vivid ended up with the footage because she was hurting for cash. From inception to post-production, Mimi was in charge even though she played the victim. Joseline isn’t surprised in the least to learn this news, and she can’t wait to use it against Stevie J.’s ex.

Last night’s Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta wasn’t really what I was expecting. Sympathizing with Stevie and mild S&M? Game changer for sure! Stevie J. has survived his first ten days in rehab, and he’s feeling much better about his recovery. However, he’s not permitted to have visitors so Joseline Hernandez has arrived to rehash her sit down with Mimi Faust. There goes Stevie’s calm vibe. He wants her to work on her anger management, and he urges her to give up smoking now that he’s giving up drinking. Stevie shares that he can’t be around liquor for at least a year once he’s out of the program, and he’d prefer not to be subjected to any tempting substances. Hold up! It’s not Joseline’s problem that Stevie has a drinking problem…she’s not giving up smoking just to appease him. Stevie requests that she talk to his doctor about his post-rehab needs, but she isn’t interested in talking to some bunk-ass therapist.

I didn’t realized that Kalenna and Tony Vick would be joining us again this season, but they’re back and she’s about to give birth. They complain that the pregnancy came about at the most inopportune time. They are suffering from financial problems and had to close their studio mid-production of her latest album. Tony relays that he has the chance to invest in some clubs with a a real estate developer. Kalenna thinks his scheme is too risky, plus the last time he worked with this friend, there were rumors all over town that Tony was cheating on her. Speaking of bad business deals, Karlie Redd is meeting up with Rasheeda to discuss the messiness at her boutique opening. Karlie wants to know why Rasheeda brought Erica Dixon to the opening of her event after Karlie ditched her plan with Erica to open a store. Rasheeda accuses Jessica Dime Piece for stirring the pot unnecessarily, and the one get into a screaming match in the restaurant in an attempt to one-up one another. AARP Karlie speeds off, and not a single patron in that crowded restaurant acted like anything was weird about two grown woman shrieking insults at one another during the lunch rush. Weird for “reality,” I know…

If you don’t owe child support on this season’s episode of Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta, chances are, you’re toying with the idea of opening a boutique. I’m really going to need these folks to step up their game! On last night’s episode, Erica Dixon is at her wit’s end with Lil’ Scrappy continuing to ignore his child support obligations. She estimates he’s behind close to $50,000, so she’s meeting with her attorney to see what her options are to get him to pay. Her lawyer advises her to petition the court to have him held in contempt. While she’s the last person who wants to see her former love behind bars–yet again–she’s doesn’t feel like she has any other options.

Thankfully, Yung Joc fancies himself a great father…and he’s not too bad at keeping his several baby mamas happy as well. Sina stops by the studio with some pound cake in hopes of wooing him back from the woman who he cheated on her with when she was pregnant with his twins…but don’t confuse his current girlfriend Khadiyah with the other woman also pregnant with another set of his twins when Sina was expecting. Khadiyah hasn’t added any baby’s to Joc’s growing football team yet, but she does like to pay for his studio time. She also pops in to see if he’s using her money wisely. Khadiyah isn’t used to taking the high road with Sina, but she’s trying, saying she has respect for his children’s mother(s). Sina wonders if Joc has shared with Khadiyah that they are still smashing (smashing, smashing…I love that Joc thought the word echoed throughout the studio!). Surprisingly, Khadiyah stays scarily calm, and Sina looses her cool to the point that Joc has to physically remove her from the building.

Momma Dee taken to hospital after car accident

Momma Dee was in a car accident yesterday and was rushed to the hospital. The Love & Hip Hop Atlanta star was riding in an Uber through Atlanta when they were rear-ended in traffic.

Momma Dee was in “severe pain” after the impact of the accident injured her back so she left the scene to go to the hospital – but NOT before getting TMZ on her iPhone for a little of-the-minute PR. #PRIORITIES #FameBeforeFeelingBetter

From what I understand from you dear readers, we won’t be seeing Joseline Hernandez on the first few episodes of Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta due to her behavior on last season’s reunion. It’s kind of like when I got suspended from cheering in one high school football game for being late to practice one too many times. Breaking bottles over people’s heads, tardiness…both valid reasons to use suspension as a punishment. Lessons learned in both cases for sure! At least we can count on Stevie J, Lil Scrappy, and Kirk Frost’s antics to entertain us in her absence, right? At least Rasheeda is now aware of Kirk’s secret downtown “office”!

Last night’s episode of Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta begins with Stevie confronting Nikko in a dark parking lot. Both men pretend to push one another (with nary contact made) before being dramatically pulled apart by the production team. Thankfully, the other guys on this show are acting more like gentlemen. Yung Joc is dressed for the part of day at the driving range with Scrappy and Kirk. Scrappy admits he’s more strip club than golf course. Joc is in a serious relationship with Khadiyah, and Kirk questions how many children his friend has total, crossing his fingers that someone besides Stevie has more kids than he does. Joc has eight in his brood, including two sets of twins (whose moms were pregnant at the same time). Pheeww! Kirk breathes a sigh of relief…he’s only got six kids and four grandchildren. Kirk reveals that he’s been hanging with his artist Ashley, who he met at a sports club…just like his last lady “friend,” but it’s totally professional no matter how attractive he finds her. He also tells his friends that Rasheeda has no clue about his downtown crib and money problems. As only Scrappy can (unintelligibly and sans subtitles), he warns his friend to not to mix biz-nigh-ee with banging.

The gang’s all here! After suffering through a snooze-worthy season of the original Love & Hip Hop, Stevie J., Joseline Hernandez, Rasheeda and Kirk Frost, Mimi Faust, Lil’ Scrappy and crew returned last night for a crazy Love & Hip Hop Atlanta premiere. Let the ratchetness commence! Don’t fail us, ATL!

After JoDez (I may be trying out some new nicknames this season…)went down in a blaze of glory at last season’s reunion, Mimi can only hope that Stevie has enough sense to steer clear of the train wreck. If not, she refuses to get involved with their drama (yeah, right!). After that pesky shower rod incident with Nikko that ended up making Vivid gajillions of dollars, Mimi has penned a tome about her experiences and kicked Nikko to the curb. Sex tape leaks she can forgive, but secret marriages? Not so much. We’ll see how long this lasts. She’s also traded her mop bucket for recording studio, and she’s teamed with Stevie to manage new artists. After listening to Tiffany Foxx, Stevie knows that no one can compare to Joseline’s music but he’s willing to ogle her creepily. When he learns that she’s on the outs with Nikko, Stevie offers Mimi a bottle of his special sauce–I honestly thought he’d started a barbeque line or something, but he means his sperm. Please stop now. Mimi can’t believe how ridiculous he is, yet she still wants to work with him.

TGIF, y’all! I needed to let you decompress from that mess we like to call the final reunion installment of Love & Hip Hop. Are you over the scriptedness? I’m not, but I’ll plow through for you, dear readers. You know the old saying–when a door shuts on fake storyline rachetness, another one opens…and Stevie J. is waiting on your welcome mat!

That’s right. Once we get through this weekend, we’ll be treated to the star of VH1’s ridiculous L&HH franchise. After her violent exit from the season of Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta, Joseline Hernandez is back, along with other favorites. It’s the greatest of life’s lessons. No matter how horrible the behavior, if one brings the drama (and the viewers), that cash cow will never be put out to pasture!
