At this point, all of the Vanderpump Rules viewers are well-aware that Lala Kent is done being friends with James Kennedy– whether he likes it or not- for now, anyway. She is done with him for hating on her man Randall Emmett and she insists that there is no way for James to get back in her good graces.
But what about James‘ girlfriend Raquel Leviss? I assume it would be awkward for Lala to be friends with Raquel if she wants nothing to do with James, but this show is always pushing conventional boundaries when it comes to relationships, so you never know.
In an interview for Bravo’s The Daily Dish podcast, Lala admitted, “I don’t think I’ve ever been friends with Raquel. She’s just James‘ girlfriend. If they were to break up tomorrow, I don’t think I would ever speak to her. I’m not trying to be rude, it just is what it is. She’s just kind of there.”
She continued, “I tend to not really connect with women who aren’t tough bitches. And I feel like she lets him get away with murder. People who are weak, we just don’t have much in common.” Ouch. She added, “It makes me feel like I’m too aggressive or too rough. I need people around me who make me feel better about being aggressive and rough, I guess.”
Even though
Lala is normally
tight lipped when it comes to questions about her relationship with
Randall, but she had no problem answering this question: “Are there any misconceptions that you want to clear up about your relationship?”
Lala explained, “I think the biggest one is that I did not wreck anybody’s home. His ex wife is already happily engaged to someone else. They met a few months after Rand and I got together and you know, we celebrate birthdays for the kids together. I’ve always resented that name of ‘homewrecker’ because I definitely believe in marriage. My parents have been together a long time, like 40 years. That’s a good amount of time.” She insists, “We did things properly. There’s a time and a place.”
And of course,
Lala was asked about
Jax Taylor sleeping with
Faith Stowers even though he’s in a relationship with
Brittany Cartwright because every single
Vanderpump Rules cast member is asked about that storyline during every interview this year. Lala revealed, “I knew that they had slept together literally an hour after it happened. I tried because I had such a tough season the year before. I would not say anything.”
Then she explained how Jax’s adultery affected her: “And then somehow, there’s a recording. Somehow James has the recording, so I kind of felt like I was a little bit played. I’m already not in great with this group and now I’m put in a position where you’re making everybody sit there and apologize and say ‘We want to make this right and get to know you.’ If this all comes out and I know about it, you’re proving them right about every conception they have of me.”
Just like every other person on this show, Lala is done with Faith. She said, “I don’t have time to sit here and have surface friendships. I found out through the grape vine recently that she was not kind about me even when we were friends and I’m a loyal soldier. When I have a friend, you’re not going to catch me talking bad about you. I’m always going to defend you. So that was hurtful too. If I saw her in a night club, I would say what’s up.”
Lala admitted, “I think Jax has a good heart. I just don’t think he should be in a relationship. There are those people who just don’t have it in them. I don’t think Faith was the first and I definitely don’t think Faith will be the last.”
She continued, “I love Brittany. She’s such a good human. She deserves the most incredible man and I believe if she were to kind of suck it up for a little bit and know it’s hard to be without him, she’ll find that and be so happy. And we’ll ditch Jax before we ditch Brit. Brit is stuck with us.”
Then the conversation took a turn for the lighthearted.
Lala was asked, “If you had to pick a team would you go Team
Stassi [Schroeder],
Katie [Maloney], and
Kristen [Doute] or Team
Ariana [Madix] and
Scheana [Marie]?” Even though Lala has been close with Ariana and Scheana for a longer amount of time, she actually said, “I think I may have to go with the Witches of WeHo.” Oh how times have changed.
Lala explained, “I’ve just really gotten to know Katie and we’re both from Utah and Utah, we don’t breed bad people. I think that we were so much alike that we were butting heads. And I love Ariana and Scheana, but Ariana kind of stands alone and that’s what I love about her, but that group of girls, it’s like damn y’all have put each other through the ringer and you’re still standing strong.”
She even revealed another reason why she’s close with
Katie: “Her man and my man are like thick as thieves. It’s crazy. They go and play poker together. My man is full-on bromance with him. It’s like ‘alright, I get it: you love Schwartzy’.” I would love to see
Randall and
Tom Schwartz turning up during a group trip on
Vanderpump Rules. I’m sure it will never happen, but I can’t help wishing for it.
