Below Deck Mediterranean Star Joao Franco Explains Why His Dream Crew Includes Everyone This Season Minus Hannah Ferrier

It’s the question that gets posed time and time again to the cast of Below Deck and Below Deck Mediterranean.  Who’s on your yachtie dream-team?  For this season, the Med crew was pretty solid after microwave operator Mila Kolomeitseva left.  Anastasia Surmava did an admiral job as chef until she stepped aside for Ben Robinson to saunter back into our livesJune Foster only made a favorable impression on smitten Colin Macy O-Toole, but her tenure was also short-lived.

So we are finishing the season with the original squad, plus an actual chef.  Captain Sandy Yawn has been dishing out the hugs in proper mother hen fashion.  What can be better than that?  Well, according to Bosun Joao Franco, there is one person that could improve at their job.

Joao and Ben appeared on the Watch What Happens Live Aftershow this week and both guys gave their responses.  When asked to build his Below Deck dream team, Ben said, “I really liked the first season of Below Deck original, and I really liked the first season of the Med.  So it would be an amalgamation of the two.”

Ben wasn’t more specific but perhaps one can speculate who he would pick.  Definitely Eddie Lucas as Bosun.  The only memorable deckhand from either season was David Bradberry Kate Chastain wasn’t on board in Season 1 of Below Deck, so maybe Ben would pick Hannah Ferrier as Chief Stew.  Maybe to round out the interior he would include Tiffany Copeland and Kat Held.  He’s hooked up with both of those ladies, after all.

Joao’s answer was more specific, and certainly more direct.  And considering how well Joao handled himself this season, both professionally and personally, his opinion definitely carries more weight.

Joao responded, “I think completely this season except [for] Hannah.  I think as a Chief Stew, work-related only, there’s a lot more that can be done.  That’s my personal opinion.”

Ouch.  But completely warranted.  Though Hannah cut out the cigarette breaks, her work ethic really leaves much to be desired.  She’ll do the basic minimum, but never strives to better herself.  Like when Captain Sandy asked her to update the table arrangements and Hannah couldn’t be bothered to leave her bunk to go shopping for items.

Luckily for Hannah, it seems the charter guests haven’t been asking for too many themed parties or beach picnics this year.
